Oh yeah,

I dunno why I'm posting this, 'cause I'm not big on spilling my business, but I figure people are always asking for prayers and stuff on here.

Well, my Dad has cancer, three different kinds, and doesn't think it can be treated. He's always been sickly though, and is usually claiming to have heart attacks, strokes, etc. He's on all sorts of medications that I don't think he needs, but the doctor's just give him to make money.

I mean, he just barely turned fifty, and I'm only 24. Much too for someone to die of cancer, or me to not have a father. I'm halfway ambivelent because we had a VERY tragic childhood...like stuff you would only find in lifetime television movies.

But anyways...that's my request for prayers. Thank you very much!

My Dad was 51 when he died of cancer. You are right, though, 50 is too young for someone to have cancer, sadly, cancer knows no boundries. :(

I'll keep you and your Dad in my prayers.

:( I've said a prayer for your dad, for you, and for your family. And I'm glad you told us.

Krista :(

I'm so sorry. :( May you and your dad and whole family know God's presence in your lives during this time.

I hope you're able to find peace with what's going on. I know it sounds strange and it's something I'm still working on.

My Dad has cancer too, I found out a year ago, he won't talk to me though, he called my Grandma and told her. I'm 26, the idea that one of my parents is dying and I can't do anything about it sucks. We don't talk, we haven't in 6 years or so, like you it's a lifetime movie - it always has been. But it's one of those things, no matter how bad things are it still rocks your world. On the other hand, my Mom is a cancer survivor, she had cancer when I was 2, she was 25. She's been in remisson for 25 years now.

Its not fair, take the time you need to be whatever you need to be (pissed, sad, angry, confused) I finally took the time to just scream and yell and be upset with the fact that I've come close to losing one parent and I'm going to lose the other one and I can't change it. It helped a lot to just let it go.

:goodvibes

Prayers for both you and your Dad.. I lost mine to cancer too - it's a tough road to walk down..

Sorry to hear that Vamp. (you're right - this is the place to come for prayers) He and you - are included in my prayers.

Hang in there.

I'm so sorry, and especially sorry that you have to deal with ambivalent emotions at this time--I'm sure that makes things extra difficult. God bless your family.

I'm so sorry, Vamp! Prayers for you and your family. My dad died from lung cancer five days before his 61st birthday. :( It's a horrible disease and so difficult on everyone.

I lost my dad in December to cancer, he was only 55. I know what you are feeling. My dad was "healthy as a horse" and very active, so it came as a shock. He was sick for over a year. He had major surgery where they removed 3/4 of his esophogas and 1/2 of his stomach. He had major complications from his surgery including internal bleeding and a heart attack. He never really recovered from it.

I was very close to my dad and miss him so much. My only advice to you is spend as much time with him as possible. I did that and still wish I had spent more. It is a terrible disease. Hopefully your dad will spend his remaining time feeling healthy enough to enjoy llife.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I'll say a prayer for your dad.
