My Cricut Died... Update in first post

Just wanted to let everyone know about my Cricut issues. My bug stopped working. It etches the paper, but will not cut. I can push on the blade housing and it cuts, so the blade is good.

I called Provo craft, and they were WONDERFUL!!! They are sending me a new machine...full new machine with George and everything. I have to send mine back within 3 weeks or they will charge my card, but that is just like the computer people did when my monitor died.

I wanted to let everyone know that they will be getting strict on having the receipt. The customer service people said that because there is a resale of bugs now, that they want to make sure that you are the original owner for warrantee purposes. She did ask if I had the receipt (no, it was a gift), and said it was OK they are letting it slide for now.

So, if you have one, make sure you do the warrantee, so that you can prove you are the original owner. And if you are a second owner, they will be charging soon...FYI...

Update... My new bug came today :banana:
I got the new model that has actual numbers for the setting on the dials. My old one just had gray, so I'm tickled!

Now to package up the old one and ship it off tomorrow.
 
Thanks for the info! How many times did you use it before it broke?
 
I got it for Mother's Day. Used it for lots of swaps. One of the best gifties DH has ever given me.

I am glad you are getting a new bug. I know I would be lost with my die cutter.
 

I found CS at cricut to be wonderful also. I havent' had any issues with my bug...but the original matt that came with it lost it's stick FAST.... Really I'd only used it a hand full of times at most before it lost ALL of it's stick power....anyhow I called Cricut CS to ask if there was any way to get the stick back...and they just said "is sounds like you got a bad matt." And..."how about we send you a new one out right away". Anyhow...with in a couple days I had a brand new TWO pack of mats delived to my door by FedX. :thumbsup2

I'm sorry you had issues with your bug...but's it's going to be nice getting a brand new one soon.:goodvibes
 
What a bummer that it broke, but how awesome that they are sending you a new one. Sounds like you love it and it's always nice to hear a rave review about something I'm considering to buy. :)
