Today was the release of Pirates of the Carribean #3 and the World of Disney store in downtown Disney was offering a free watch, litho art, and stein to the first 700 people in line. Who can pass that offer up?
I am lucky enough to be staying at Saratoga Springs so I was within walking distance.....woke up at 5am and inline with about 200-300 more people at 5:30am. Some people camped out in front of the store from 11pm the following night!
The store opened at 6:30am so here we are just wrapped around the side of the building in about 50 degrees....waiting to receive the goodies! They had it very organized and handed out wrist bands to keep everything fair. At 6:30 they opened the doors and we slowly filed in! The excitement filled the air and after about an hour I finally made it to the register! I came out with a DVD, a watch, a beautiful stein, a litho of the ship, and a set of pins. I'm not a pin collector but just got sucked into all the excitement and added the set in! I just have to say it was fun and crazy and cold. As always I met some wonderful people in line so in the end it isn't about the stuff ....it's about meeting more wonderful Disney freaks!!!
