My cousin keeps spelling my name wrong

I'm talking about my last name and it's not a difficult name to spell. It's a very common name and it's the same as a very common profession. It ends in an 'er' and she keeps spelling it with an 'ar' (like spelling "teacher" as "teachar"). She's been doing this ever since I've been married which is over 5 years. Now, this woman is not uneducated. I wouldn't even call her flighty--not even close. She holds a college degree and worked in the business world for many years. But, for some reason she keeps spelling my name wrong. I don't get it. And it's not like I might be misreading what she's writing. She has good writing and it's very clear that she's spelling it 'ar'.

We get the same prob with an aunt and uncle. They get my card every year, they have seen my name in print..... It's not like I ever really talk to them since I don't live near the family anymore so I've given up trying to correct the problem.

You know, that's not a bad idea. Her name can easily be misspelled as it's one that's sometimes spelled different ways.

My husband's grandmother insists on calling me Diane when that isn't my name. I'm Diana and being called Diane makes me nuts!

My step-brother and his wife have always spelled my name wrong. And I mean my first name, which ya think they might remember how to spell. Doesn't matter how many cards I've sent them with my name signed, as well as printed on the return envelope, etc. etc. and they continue to spell it wrong. I have known these people my entire dang life. The last name, they manage to get correct. Maybe because it's the same as mine.

Don't feel too bad. My dad's relative always used to send Christmas cards to "John & Joyce" -- Mom's name is Gail.

My great aunt spells my aunt Debra's name Deborah...always has probably always will

My DH's extended family- adds an A to the end of DD's names instead of an E so - instead of elle its ella...for both of them. It's the italian in em, I know what it is, so I just ignore it. but DD8 says- its GabriELLE not GabriELLA!!!!!!!

My dd's get mad when nobody can pronounce their last name...irks them to no end. But the reason they cant is because nobody spells it correctly. They say it like they think they spell it... Lovely Italian names!

DH's grandfather calls my daughter by my name, Lisabeth, her name is Isabelle. He calls me Lisa. My friend always spells our last name wrong, starting it with "Re" instead of "Ri". Oh well.

We have been married for 26 years and my inlaws still don't call me by the right name let alone spell it right. I have corrected them, tried not answering them, finally I just decided to ignore it.
