My contract isn't selling :-(

Well everyone...after dropping the price...Christmas came 2 days early for us! The contract sale is now pending as of today!!! :cool1::banana::woohoo: As soon as we send in our signed contract it will go to ROFR so hopefully Disney accepts the contract! Whomever bought this is truly our Christmas Angel! We feel a huge weight lifted off of our shoulders! Thank you to everyone who helped us through this thread with comments and suggestions! You all are great and we appreciate your opinions and honesty! Merry Christmas and happy new year!!!

Once the contract goes to Disney, you don't have to worry because either your buyers will get it or Disney will--either way, you get the sale.

Congratulations!!!

Just a friendly reminder to everyone that specifics of a "for sale" contract are not permitted to be posted on the DISBoards.

Thanks.

I was shocked to see the huge numbers of listings right now at the timeshare store plus the huge price drops, It's unbelievable to see so many BLT ads, I don't know why what happened to the allure.

I don't know why what happened to the allure.
It's really pretty simple. Most timeshare buyers are impulse buyers---and DVC is no different. You are on vacation. You are having the time of your life. You go on the tour, and are promised the ability to bottle "a lifetime worth of vacation magic at today's prices." A lot of people jump at that without asking a lot of important questions. Can I afford it? Do I really want to return to WDW regularly for many decades? Other things change too: if you move farther away (making flights more expensive/less convenient), or get divorced, or have a new child (or are caring for a parent) which crimps your travel style, etc. Some fraction of buyers *always* discovers that they don't really want it within a few years of purchase.

The hype wore off, reality set in and maybe Disney is adjusting the dues cost to the real cost.

In part, it is the normal yearly cycle. It coincides with the arrival of dues notices. You normally see an increase in the number of for sale contracts and rental offers in January/February.

BINGO! You are so right!
