We’re back…tired and sick! LOL We had a wonderful time – Disney is my favorite place in the world to go and I enjoyed every moment we were there.

We left Sunday March 11 about 3 am and came home Sunday March 18 about 4 pm. Me, my dh (Robert), my boys - Bobby and Joey, my best friend - Angela, her dh - Billy and two girls - Meagan and Hannah Grace were all in tow!

We had great weather, mid 80’s most days and 60’s at night. Thursday was a scorcher and we really felt the heat that day, but Friday a cold front came through and we nearly froze on Saturday! Probably why we are all sick. Hannah Grace began running a fever Tuesday and we had to keep her “drugged up” so she could enjoy her trip. Friday Robert started running a fever and by Sunday morning it was up to 102.2. He has bronchitis. Bobby is currently running a fever and I feel like crap! Angela just now called and she has been diagnosed with the flu! Oh well – it was worth it.

We arrived in Disney on Sunday evening about 4:00 March 11. We had an uneventful trip down and a nice quiet drive thanks to the newly installed DVD player with cordless headphones! We headed straight to Downtown Disney as our tickets for the parks didn’t start until Monday. We ate dinner at the Rainforest Café and did a little shopping. If you have never eaten at a Rainforest Café and you get the chance, I highly recommend it. The atmosphere is worth the cost of your meal and the kids LOVED it.

Monday morning we headed out for our first day at the parks. We started at Magic Kingdom (my favorite). We were there when they opened the gates and got to see Mickey and the “family of the day” welcome us to the MK. After they dropped the rope, we were one of the first families in the doors and, to this day when I see that castle at the end of Main Street – I tear up. All the memories of my childhood flood back and I can’t help but miss my family a little. We walk straight onto Dumbo, Small World, Peter Pan and Snow White without a single wait. We then headed to the Tea Cups where we were in the right place at the right time. We were awarded a “dream”. It is the “Year of a Million Dreams” at Disney World and they are randomly selecting people and giving them prizes. The ultimate prize, of course, being a night’s stay in the castle…no we didn’t get this one :o(! We won lanyards with trading pins – a collector’s item. I was tickled to death get this because I wasn’t expected to get a dream at all. After tea cups, we headed to Toon Town to visit Mickey and Minnie’s houses and took some cute pics. We then headed over to Tomorrowland to ride Space Mountain. We had to take turns on this one because the boys weren’t tall enough to ride. We Billy, Angela, Meagan and Hannah Grace go first and while they were in line, the ride broke down. Meagan was fit to be tide, but we got to ride it multiple times after that so all was well! If you have never been to Disney and you go, make use of the Fast Pass system. It saves so much time waiting! We finished riding all the rides in Tomorrowland and had some lunch. We then went over to Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and watched the parade. By the time the parade was over it was almost time for our dinner reservation at Liberty Tree Tavern with Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale. It was really good – almost like a Thanksgiving meal – and the kids loved the character interaction. After dinner we headed out to find a good spot for Spectromagic (parade) and Wishes (fireworks at the castle). We got our spot and got the kids some glowing necklaces and a snack and settled in for the shows. Again, I found myself tearing up….missing my family, but having a great time nonetheless. It was perfect!

Tuesday we headed to MGM. We grabbed fast passes for Rockin’ Roller Coaster and went to see The Little Mermaid show. It was so good. The boys loved it! We headed to the Beauty and the Beast show next and it was great too! We went to ride Tower of Terror next. LOL The boys were so wanting to ride this ride – even after I told them what it did. So, with fair warning, off we went. Bobby insisted on sitting next to “Mwister Bwilly” so…here we go. They were all smiles as we did the intro – then came the first drop. Screams imenced immediately! They were officially terrified! Every ride after this that began dark they would ask “Does it drop?” LOL Like I said, they had fair warning! We continued our day at MGM and things got much, much better when we got to meet Buzz Lightyear and Woody! The boys’ absolute favorites! They were thrilled beyond measure and it made their trip. After a few more shows, such as Indiana Jones’ Adventure and High School Musical, we went to eat dinner at 50’s Prime Time Café. A great dining experience where the waitresses “fuss” at you about putting your elbows on the table or not finishing your veggies. We had another great meal and ate way too much and then headed off for Fantasmic. Let me tell you, I have never seen this show before and it was wonderful! It is like mixing all the great Disney movies together and making one big movie. It was a great end to another great day.

Wednesday we went to Animal Kingdom. We went straight for the Safari. It was great – we got to see tons of animals they were everywhere! The boys really enjoyed it. We got fast passes for Everest and headed to watch some shows. We saw Festival of the Lion King and I thought the boys would come unglued! Bobby was so excited to see Simba….he started jumping up and down. That, in my opinion, was the best show at Disney. We also saw the new Nemo show. It was great as well. I did get in trouble by a Cast Member however, because I missed the “No photography” announcement and was taking pictures! I got three pics in before I got in trouble though. We ate a great BBQ lunch overlooking the water and Everest looming in the distance. After lunch we headed that way….that ride is now my official favorite! It had everything you could ask for in a roller coaster! After we rode it – twice in a row due to fast passes – we headed over to Kali River Rapids where I got soaked! It felt good though because it was really warm out. I was dry in no time and we headed back to MGM for our dinner reservations at Sci Fi Dine In Theater. It was really good food and a really great atmosphere. We each had our own car to sit in and it was just like a drive in theater – we watched clips from old sci fi films. We really enjoyed it. After dinner we headed back to the hotel to swim for a bit – well the boys swam while I did laundry!

Thursday we headed to Epcot. It was extremely hot this day! We got there early for our breakfast with the princesses and had a delicious meal. All the princesses kind of “made over” the boys calling them princes and telling them how handsome they were. Of course this made Bobby all bashful and Joey just ate it up! LOL Funny how they are so different! We spent most of the day touring the World Showcase. It was neat seeing all the different things different countries had to offer. We got to ride a couple of rides, then since it was so hot, we called it a day at Epcot. This is really one of my least favorite parks of the three. We didn’t get to ride Soarin or Test Track. Test Track was down until just before we left and then the wait was like 90 minutes and we didn’t have time to wait as we had dinner reservations to get to. Soarin’s wait was also really long and our fast passes didn’t have us returning until after 6:00 and, again, we had dinner reservations. We left Epcot and rode the monorail to the transportation station where we got on the ferry to Magic Kingdom. We rode a couple of rides and then got back on the monorail to Chef Mickey’s in the Contemporary Resort for dinner. There we had dinner and met with Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Chip and Dale and Donald Duck. We had a great time and the food was the best we had! It was really great! We then went back to the MK and rode Space Mountain and were in line for Splash Mountain again when the exhaustion hit us and we left for our hotel to get some much needed rest.

Friday was a full day at the Magic Kingdom. Again we got there at opening and rode everything in Fantasyland without a line…this time we got to ride Winnie the Pooh (Bobby’s favorite) which was broken down the first day. It was a little rainy on this day so we had the kids in their swimsuits and let them play in the water for a good two hours while we all vegged out on the benches. Robert and Billy got good little naps and when the sun came back out we all dried up and headed out to ride some more rides. A new show has opened up and was running test shows – we got in to see Monster’s Inc Comedy Club show and it was so funny! It is an interactive show with the cartoons. Really funny. We hit Adventureland on Friday as well for the first time and they kids loved it too. Joey got picked out of the audience to ride a wooden stick horse with Woody and his pals in a street show. He loved it. Bobby was too shy – imagine that? I got some great pics of this too. We got in some more great rides and took things a little slower til dinner. We headed to Crystal Palace for dinner with Pooh and friends. The food was awful, but the characters were great. Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore and Tigger. They were great. We hung out and watched Spectromagic and Wishes again as it was our last night. Again, it was perfect – dispite some rude northerner. (Long story…we came out on top and still maintained our Christian composures!).

Saturday was our last day. We woke to much cooler temps and some of us were feeling yucky. We took it easy this day and still got to ride most rides without much of a wait. Meagan, Angela and I got to ride Space Mountain twice in a row due to fast passes. We took the afternoon “off” and watched the show in front of the castle and just kind of chilled out for a while. The weather was so nice – we all rode our favorite ride one last time and then got some dinner and left. We headed to Tallahassee and spent the night the headed the rest of the way home Sunday.

I miss Disney already, but I’m glad to be home and sleeping in my own bed. We are now planning our next trip with my sister and her family and my mom and dad in January 2009.

That was a really nice trip report. I think it's a bummer about no photographs during the shows, how is a scrapbooker supposed to preserve those memories? Sounds like you all had a good time. Sorry to hear that some of you got sick. I hope you feel better.

Sorry to hear everyone is under the weather now but sounds like you did have a great trip. I tear up too when I see the Castle!

We are going March 12-18 next year. How would you say the crowds were? From your report it doesn't sound too too bad. Did you use FP a lot? What were the lines like without FP?

Thanks again for your report

Crowds were pretty hefty at times...however, we used the FP system and didn't have to wait for hardly anything. I think the longest wait time we had was about 30 minutes for Tower of Terror. Lines were bearable....here is a pic of the crowds around BTMRR on our first day.

Here is a shot of the crowd at Fantasmic:
