Ugh . . .she makes me nuts! We each do the same thing, although we work for different Administrators . . .Well, yesterday was report card stuffing day . . .we each have certain letters of the alphabet . . .mine are K - Q and hers are R - Z for all four grades (9 - 12) We each have around 500 - 550 kids. I finished all my report card stuffing yesterday . . .she didn't . . .only because she played on the internet for half the day . . .As we were leaving the building yesterday, she says "since you are done with yours, you can help with mine tomorrow . . ." I said "no". She got all bent out of shape about it . . .so today she isn't speaking with me . . .My philosophy was I did all mine and I'll be damned if I'm going to finish hers too . . .

Can I go home now?

Let her be mad. She may find herself out of a job if she can't complete a task like that. Isn't there some kind of deadline that they have to be in the mail by?

They are being mailed today . . .she could of finished yesterday if she wasn't playing . . .

She'll get over it . . .

I would have done the same thing if I were you. If she really worked at it but just couldn't get it done, that would be a different story. But since she was playing on the internet instead of working, I think your "no" is very justified.

Good for you, I'm such a weenie, I would have done it and been mad at myself the whole time. At least maybe this will help her to figure out she needs to work first, play later.:D

i think you did the right thing. i don't understand why she is mad. it is her own fault she didn't finish and it's not your job to help her. stand your ground or she'll keep slacking, expecting you to help her out every time.

She is mad because like most other people in our world today, she thinks that she should be able to do whatever the heck she wants and not suffer negative consequences for it.

If she asked me tomorrow why I didn't help her, I'd tell her it was because she'd played on the Internet half the day instead of doing her work, and why should you suffer and have to do more work because she is lazy!

Can you tell that I have been having aggravation lately with lazy co-workers who don't want to do their job?

I'm usually a TEAM player. There is no I in TEAM. There is no MY work or YOUR work in our office. It's all OUR work.

But under the circumstances, if she's not pitching in - then tough! She can finish it herself.

I'm a team player; but I don't get used or walked on either. ;)
I'm the first one there when you need help or have a question. Maybe that's why I never get MY work done. LOL

As my Mom says... She'll just have to get glad in the pants she got mad in!

You've helped her out before, haven't you? Sounds like she just believed she could play because you would help. Looks like she was mistaken. I agree with you, it's her work and her responsibility. She'll get over her mad.

She'll get over it....especially when she "needs" your help again. You did the right thing. Good for you for standing up for yourself.

You make me shiver! LOL! If I had said something like that to a coworker and my boss happened to hear about it in person or through the coworker, I would have been seen as "not being a team player." Do I miss that job? NO! :teeth:
