I always hated these assignments as well. My oldest had 1 teacher that gave so many of them I finally sent in a note saying that we would no longer be doing them. I didn't mind them every now and then but every week was too much. After that, they became "optional" assignments. I also was never one to hoover over my kids as they did their homework. If they had a question or needed help, I was certainly available, but I often didn't see the homework until it was finished.

Ironically, we homeschool now, so we are doing many more family projects. LOL!!! Of course, we have more time to do them now, too.

Good luck with the project, OP. It is an interesting subject. That's for sure.
