My cat is not diggin' the fireworks.

People are setting them off left and right around here, and he is NOT enjoyng the noise. But, he's still nosey, so once the noise stops, he runs back up to the window and looks around.

It really hasn't started here yet. As soon as it does my dog starts shaking. She just wants to be in my lap until it's over.

My dog and my DD3 are huddled close by as well! Oh well, at least the 4th of July only comes once a year!

I have to give one of my dogs a tranquilizer for the fireworks -- and thunderstorms, if I know they're coming. The poor thing is absolutely terrified and the vet said that he could actually have a heart attack from the fear, so it's better to give him the pills.

I'm so tired of all the fireworks! It's been going on for a whole week now! Last weekend, then this weekend and tonight! Yeccch! Cats are upset, kids can't sleep and I worry about fires - our city houses are just too close together for so many people to be shooting them off! I'll be so glad when it's over! I love the holiday but hate the home-based fireworks!

I have one too. Absolutely nothing will comfort her. I feel so bad. I also have one that couldn't care less and is rolling around without a care in the world, and no, she's not deaf. The last one is somewhere in between, not happy at all, but more scared of thunder for some reason. They are just like people. All different. Hope we all make it through the night!

my dog will shake uncontrollably, pant, sweat -- well, his fur gets really hot -- and hide under my computer desk, in a closet, etc. the vet said it's much kinder to just give him the tranquilizer. I had given him a whole pill the other night, but it seemed to make his just a bit tooooo stoned, so I cut the pill in half last night. totally forgot about it though tonite...i'm a bad dog mom.

One of my kitties is hiding under the table right now as the neighbors light some off. I think the cat must think it's storming out because that's where she goes in a storm!

My cats don't even care really. One is sleeping on a chair, one's laying on my bed, and my new kitten is on my lap!
