well not my cat, my sister's cat, but i live with both of them. and 2 dogs, but thats besides the point.

Despite being an animal lover, i try to keep my room animal free, as its the only spot in the house that is. Not to mention that i'm allergic to cats (but due to excessive exposure i'm almost immune to my cat's dander). Anyway, they always seem to be in this room. they love it b/c they know they're not supposed to be in here. and just 2 minutes ago I hear the little jingle of her collar.

My door was shut! closed! now she's asleep in my bed and way too cute to move.

My last cat could open a door if it had a lever doorknob. Drove my parents nuts.

When I was growing up I lived in an older house with a door that didn't always sit right. Well my cats knew that if they wanted to get in or out all they had to do was slide a little paw in under the door and rattle it a bit. I had seen them do it with my own 2 eyes. Not much you can do about it other than put a small flip top lock on the door. I'm allergic too so I just started to put a flat sheet over my bed to keep it hair free. Then when the top sheet got icky I could just replace it without having to wash all my bedding.

If our doors don't latch just right my cat will open them. She also opens the kitchen cabinets and bathroom cabinets. We had to install baby locks on all our doors years before DS was even born.

She is working on the regular doorknobs. I have actually watched her try to open latched doors. She gets really close, she just doesn't have quite enough leverage to twist the knob. If we had the lever handles she would be able to do it. Just the fact that she is smart enough to at least know how to do it freaks me out. We had to install a cat door on our bedroom door because she would freak out if it was closed. Banging and rattling the door all night, regardless if she was inside the room or out. She just wanted access to our room. My other cat could car less about doors being open/closed but the first one is a trip

Mine can as well, his favorite is the pantry
but on cold days he finds his way to the linen closet, drives DH nuts

The boy opens everything. His favorite door is the linen closet but lately he's just howling. He'd rather howl for 20 minutes that take the one minute to open it himself. I'm convinced that he's a Garfield.
