This is so not my week. My cat was playing with somthing on the floor, I thought it was a pen so I ignored her. Till I heard crunching. Last night one of the kids must have dropped it after homework time. She didnt get much mabey a small chomp or two. Should I be worried? Will she get sick?

Crayons are non toxic, so he worst that will probably happen is you will have a colorful litter box to scoop!

She'll be fine. One of my foster kittens tonight ate one of my spice cookies (no frosting), that I left on the end table, while I did dishes tonight. Doesn't like Iams kitten chow, but likes spice cookies. She kept growling at her sisters, and I heard her everytime I shut off the water, but I thought she was playing. Didn't know she was protecting what was now her cookie, as they tried to get bits. DH watched the whole thing and saw no reason to stop her...hey, that was MY cookie, and the last one in the bag. She goes up for adoption tomorrow (sniff), hope she doesn't get sick while being shown.

Aww, it wont her her. My poodle eats them every now and then and I would never know it, except for the rainbow poop!:rotfl2:

Should be fine. When I was younger we had a poodle that loved to eat crayons. She ate them all the time, she would steal them if we were coloring. :sad2: Only thing that ever happened was we had a "rainbow of colors" when we cleaned up the yard...

Crayons should be OK. My kids have chewed on them too. Maybe call your vet if it'll make you feel better.

We used to have a Basset Hound and one night, right after we went to bed, I heard her crying. When I checked I found she had bitten into a tube of super glue that I had left on the end table. She had glues most of her lips together! I called the vets emergency #, (DH laughing madly in the background) and the vet told me to make sure that her insides hadn't glued shut somewhere. I spent the night waiting for her to pee! :scared:
She was fine but DH never let me forget how smart "my" dog was!

I was actually told by a vet in order to get a stool sample to put a little crayon shavings in the food...so as a PP has said you will have a colorful litter box

Crayons are my schnoodle's, favorite snack! Came home from work a couple months ago and stumbled upon the " crayola graveyard!" Somehow he manages to UNWRAP the crayons first, the wrappers are intact just a nibble line down the side! So besides the colorful aftermath I have a crime scene of multiple intact empty crayon wrappers scattered around the living room! At least I know what colors to look for in the yard! :lmao:

THAT is genius! I will do that before my dog's next vet appointments. They will not Poop when I am watching, so I never have a sample to take because I don't know what is what.

My golden used to eat my kids crayons whenever she got the chance ~ very colorful, if you get my drift :lmao:

I came home from work once and found a rainbow that ran from the front living room half way into the kitchen. I couldn't figure out what in the world it was until I saw the half eaten crayons on the floor. I guess the cat ate a few, then had to scoot his booty all over the place. That was a colorful mess to clean up.

I could have gone all day without that visual picture! :rotfl2:

I thought my dog was the only one who ate them! ahaha! I feel better knowing he's semi normal.

I think you need a tag that says "has a cat that draws rainbows with its booty" :rotfl:

One of my dogs eats them from time to time. They never bother her. I believe they are non-toxic! Say hello to some colorful poops!

I had a cat who once bit into a Glow-Stick and got a mouthful of the inside stuff. It gave us a huge shock because the first we knew of it was the cat racing around the apartment like a maniac, foaming from the mouth!

My husband was convinced the cat was going to die on the spot, and blaming me because they were my glow sticks. I picked up the package, looked at it, and said, "But it says non-toxic!" Then I called the vet and he confirmed that indeed - Glow Sticks are non-toxic. Phew!

Apparently ALL cats will freak out and foam if they get a mouthful of mineral oil. Once we knew she wasn't dying, we turned off the lights and enjoyed our glow-in-the-dark cat.

So you'd think that would have taught my husband something about jumping to dire conclusions, but no... we went through the whole scenario again when the dog ate a Lindt chocolate. He'd heard that chocolate is poisonous for dogs, so he was convinced the dog was dead. A goner. That time I ended up printing out a whole bunch of info from the computer describing exactly how much chocolate a dog has to eat before it shows ill effects, based on purity of the chocolate and size of the dog. Our dog didn't even get a tummy ache. :lmao:

I swear, our animals are out to give us all gray hair!
