My cancelled 3/14 cruise????

Unfortunately no. We booked using CC points so Air Canada won’t let us cancel online and the cc company doesn’t allow online cancellations either. Their call Center closes in 15 minutes and doesn’t reopen until after our flight. So unfortunately we will likely be no-showing and not eligible for refunds.
Seems odd to me that a major airline call center isn't open 24/7.

I'm confused. Everything I can find says DisneyWORLD is closing up March 16.

WDW parks are closing 3/16
WDW resort hotels will remain open until further notice

(see red below)

In an abundance of caution and in the best interest of our Guests and Cast Members, we are proceeding with the closure of our theme parks at Walt Disney World Resort, beginning March 16, through the end of the month.
The Walt Disney Company will pay its Cast Members during that closure period.
Disney Resort hotels will remain open until further notice. Disney Springs will also remain open.
We will continue to stay in close contact with appropriate officials and health experts.
Below, you’ll find information on impacts to current and incoming plans. Please continue to check this page for additional updates. We appreciate your patience and consideration during this unprecedented time.

Does the credit need to be used in one sailing? Can it be applied to an existing reservation?
Up through yesterday, I know DCL was not allowing the credit to be split. I don't know if that changed with yesterday's cancellation of cruises. My guess would be no but I'd be happy to be proven wrong.

I guess we are splitting hairs. To me hotels are hotels and resorts are the parks. No reason to be in the hotels if the parks are closed

Well, Disney uses "parks" to refer to the theme parks -- at least at WDW, and WDW "hotels" are typically referred to as "resorts." Many people do visit WDW resort hotels without plans to visit the theme parks; not most people, but many -- a long weekend away, dining, shopping, etc.
So for clarity:
  • WDW resort hotels are not currently planning to close despite the fact that the theme parks are scheduled to close Monday.
  • In contrast, the hotels at Disneyland in California are closing on Monday, 2 days after the theme parks close on Saturday.

I expected that. We will see. If that is the case, and they cancel my Greek cruise in June, there is zero chance I would take the offer, since it would be really hard to use a 150% of the cost on one cruise. No only that, but the way they are making people rebook at current rates can significantly decrease the value of these incentives. On some cruises, you could quickly eat up that 50% extra when booking at current rates.

Have you considered going to the airport and cancelling in person before the flight is scheduled to take off?

That’s probably why they’re doing it at a higher percent. So people don’t have to shell out more money for the same cruise. It probably works out well with the regular cruises out of San Diego and Orlando. Not as good for people who already got the most expensive stateroom on the most expensive itinerary.

Agreed. Where it doesn't help is for cruises like the Greek cruise, where you would have too much credit to reasonably use a on a Caribbean cruise and booking the same cruise the next year is questionable for whatever reason. In our case, I don't think I want to pay the very expensive airfare all over again. So, we will probably take our money back if it comes to that. On the other hand, if they let us split the 150% between two cruises, we would consider the offer.

So are they offering different amounts based on sail date? I just got my cancellation email for our 3/20 Dream cruise and it quotes only full refund or 125% future cruise credit.

Wow. I am sorry to hear that.

That isn't a very great offer, in my opinion. Even with that offer, some cruisers could end up paying more for the same cruise next year, based on price increases.

Plus many people will lose airfare (or may need to re-buy airfare because airlines won't let you rebook a year out so you can take the same cruise), which means many people are going to come out much worse taking that offer.

I understand these cancellations aren't Disney's fault, and I applaud them for doing the right thing, but I am disappointed they can't offer the 150% to everyone. If we get the same offer (assuming summer Europe cruises are canceled), we may be doing a land-only trip to Europe next summer instead.

Probably a East Coast (WDW) versus West Coast (DL) difference. At Disneyland Resort, that refers to everything on site, the parks, Downtown Disney and the hotels.
Sort of like folks who have argued here with me about the "Magic Kingdom", insisting it is only at Disneyworld. Disneyland is also the Magic Kingdom. The hardbound book I bought at Disneyland in 1965 refers to Disneyland as "The Magic Kingdom".

I can only cancel through the credit card company. Not sure I follow how going to the airport would help. Also- the flight left Toronto 8 hours before you posted so that “ship” had sailed.

I only had 8 hours between when rumours started and when the flight left this morning at 6:30am. It wasn’t enough time.

I feel like I said this fourteen times, but lets say it again. I booked through credit card points. Air Canada can’t/won’t cancel or change reservations made b travel agents or credit card travel agents. My CC company call Center is not open for travel reservations 24 hours.

Okay. But a credit card company call center that isn't open 24/7 in this day seems unthinkable to me.

I heard cruises this weekend were offered 150% credit while all others are offered 125%. Maybe because of the last minute, with some people already started on their vacations. Just a guess.
