My budget vacation for 2009

I think that I just got a really good deal, but maybe I am wrong. I knew that my fellow Dis'ers would give me their op. I booked through Southwest vacations. They had buy one flight get one free and Universal was also having buy one get one for the unlimited 7 day admission. So here is what I got.

4 direct flights from Pittsburgh to Orlando
Rental Car for the whole stay
6 nights at the Vistana Village on International Drive 1 bed/1 bath full kitchen
4 Unlimited admission to all Universal Parks.

$1656.

where did you find the deal for buy one ticket for the park get one free?

Well your flights alone from PIT would have been about $140 each after fees and taxes (SW is running $58 fares for virtually every flight now thru Oct.) So airfare would have been $560. The tickets for Universal would have been $480 (The cost of the US tix after tax is close to $120 each) So airfare and tickets would have been $1,040 on your own. So the remainder is the rental car and accomodations. You could do very well on places to stay right now so that amount is up for debate. Depending on the size car you will get you might have been able to do better there.

I think you did get a pretty good deal. You could probably have done about the same on your own getting things individually but it is still a good deal

Southwest vacations was offering it as a special. The flights were bogo and the villa was buy one night get one free so for six nights you only paid for 3 and the universal tickets were bogo. I thought it was a pretty good deal. Ticket wise much cheaper than disney, but it will be had to be that close!!
