My brother says he would never stay at blt

Dang, I sure wish all the BLT hate actually resulted in easier bookings. I'd LOVE for a few more people to decide BLT isn't for them and move on to the next resort to make it easier for those of us who love the resort to book it!

And you know how big those rooms are. But my husband and I felt that we had plenty of room in the studio we had at BLT. And I'm looking forward to going back in a couple weeks. And yes, we will be in another studio.

Nancy princess:

I've not stayed in a BLT studio yet so I can't comment on the size. However, I have stayed in a 2 bedroom and it was a good size. Usually when I travel to Disney its just my fiance and I. I really don't mind the size of the room because I'm hardly ever in it.

The new design makes a lot more sense to me. :thumbsup2 I'm glad it isn't too difficult to engineer.
I love the little kitchenette. There is a lot of storage space in it.

The regular CR rooms can sleep 5 and they are bigger--I believe they are among the largest rooms for any Disney resort. The BLT studios are among the smallest (if not the smallest) for any DVC resort. But, I think the BLT studio is fine for two. The BLT 1 and 2 BR units are among the largest SQ FTage for DVC resorts. So, there is quite a contrast between the studio and the 1BR.

I guess we are 1-bedroom snobs. We tried a studio once at SSR and we misssed the kitchen/washer-dryer and being able to spread out a little, so we were able to switch rooms. And that is just the two of us. We absolutely loved staying at BLT this past September. We were in a 2-bedroom, there was 4 of us, and thought it was great. Loved that 3rd bathroom.

So, with not having any real experience in a studio, I can't help much. Except to say the 2-bedrooms are great!

But really....having to reconfigure the studios because a kitchenette right next to the bathroom wasn't a good idea? Not putting a lock on the bathroom door was not a good idea? Having a balcony ledge that children can climb on wasn't a good idea? Having an open walkway that would get wet in the rain have slippery flooring wasn't a good idea?

What in the heck were the designers smokin' when they designed this place! These are all design flaws, not even repairs for worn-out rooms. They're spending how much money to fix mistakes that should never have been made!

My sis & bil both say they likely won't stay there either. More for the fact that they are not big fans of the "modern" look of the rooms. My family & I generally prefer a more rustic, home-like feeling. But my DH really likes the whole monorail adjacent thing... We'll see - we've got 40+ years to try them all out :)

For the two of us, a BLT studio felt small but cozy. We would do it again sometime.

Then again, we're used to the rooms at the moderates.

Probably the same designers who designed BWV with only 1 set of elevators. At least BLT is getting a fix.

We stayed in a BLT studio this time last year and enjoyed it. It is just the two of us (me and DH) but we didn't feel cramped and we through there was plenty of storage space. BLT has become one of our favorite DVC locations.

We spent three nights there after a four night stay at BWV. There were three of us..myself (5'8''), dh (6'4'') and dd (5'10''). While the studio is smaller than a regular room at the CR, and is smaller than the studios at the other DVC resorts. BUT...we had no issues at all. I actually found there to be more usable storage space. And we were among the very small group of people that had no issue with the kitchenette being right there with the vanity area.
I look forward to more stays at BLT..it's a truly wonderful resort.

Was this the Fire issue, I don't remember seeing this?

no a user complaint.

love the BLT studios and will love them more with the changes.

when my hair was long did it in the bed area - now that is short - still wash & go....so my hair in my breakfast was never a problem.

the other dvc resorts (except okw) do not have the sinks in the bathroom - and kitchennett is in the same place - but there is definitely a bigger hallway between them.

they are also fixing the bathroom door - don't think they are doing anything on the balcony - so that is still a problem.

We stayed at BLT last month. Family of 3, me, DH and 2 year daughter. Studio is tiny. Once was enough for us. We stayed at Kidani in a studio a couple of weeks ago And will probably stay there next year. The studio at AKV was so much nicer than BLT!

We stayed in a dedicated 2BR lakeview this summer and my parents were in a LV studio next door. They weren't impressed with the studio - nothing wrong with it, just no wow factor or extra space when compared to a regular room at WL or ALK. It worked for them, but they aren't in any hurry to go back to one.

On the other hand, we all found the 2BR to be huge! With the 3rd bathroom and nice livng space, all 8 of us (5 adults, 3 toddlers) easily could have stayed there - most of my parents "non-sleeping, hotel time" was spent in the 2BR with us - and so next trip we've only booked a 2BR and forgone the studio.

:lmao: I have to wonder everytime we are at BWV what they were thinking! I do like it there though, so we use the stairs at which ever end of the building we are at! We are never close to those elevators!

hey even as small as BLT is - it has 2 elevators units - with 3 elevators in each.

one on the north side and one on the south side - the south side is the one you see when you walk in from the skywalk from CR.

We did not care for the BLT studio at all. We felt the layout did not "flow" well for us. We were happy to leave after our 2-night stay. The other size units at BLT are just fine. We enjoyed the resort a lot. But I can't recommend the studio.

Fascinating. Now I'm looking forward to reading the list of restaurants your brother refuses to eat at, followed by the rides he has deemed disdainful.

It's a great topic for a thread, "My brother thinks..."

Keep 'em coming!

We own at BWV and BLT. Have stayed at 2 BD at BWV and are staying for the first time at BLT in 2 Bedroom for Christmas. Can anyone having stayed at both give us a comparison? Thanks for the assistance.
