He was looking for info on Saratoga (sp) which is what he bought. He says he got 290 pts/$20,000 with an $800 maint. fee/yearly.
He wants me to buy in to! Is this a set price from DVC?
Also, where can I find info to read online about the timeshare?
$69 a point is pretty awesome....that is most certainly not the Disney price. Disney is offering SSR at various prices depending on which purchase incentive you want to use. Someone will come along shortly and post those, since frankly I haven't paid much attention to SSR pricing.
I can tell you that your brother will be paying more like $1,200 a year in maintenance fees. That is the same for any owner of a specific resort, regardless of how they purchased. Maintenance is around $4 a point currently.
Good luck....but please don't follow your brothers advice without asking a ton of questions and completely understanding this somewhat complex "time share" point system.
Uh, yeah....we bought 200 points from Disney (SSR) last weekend for $85.00 per point (that was with incentive)....so that sounds just too good to be true to me.
We just bought at $89 a point. But it was a promotional price for California Residents. There were other bonus incentives as well. But according to the paperwork, the regular Disney price is $95 a point. I'm sure there are other promotions out there right now that probably match our price of $89, that someone else could tell you about.
I'm sure that DB was just saying a ballpark figure to me about the price 20-25 thousand is the same to him LOL
I do plan to do a lot of research on here and get the best possible price and ask plenty of questions before DH and I purchase.
I would assume we should probably sign up for one of the tours next time we are at Disney, that sounds like a good place to start, right? I'm sure you'll all educate me plenty by then!
I think you got some of your numbers mixed up, even with the current incentive, disneys price is $85/pt. Are you sure your brother isn't just financing $20,000 and that the actual price was higher? Sound like a steal if it is true.
Great idea, read, research, and take a tour of the resort. You can also buy at the other resorts via re-sale. Have fun, but get all the facts before you decide. We love our DVC, but it is expensive and not right for everyone.
