Pixie Dust, the parakeet I've had for about 10 years now, is dying.
My family and I were watching tv when we noticed that she was lying on the botton of her cage. My dad thought that she might just be caught on something so he put his hand in to see if she had a claw caught on the little net thing we have around the bottom of the cage to catch the bird seed in, but she wasn't caught on anything.
She's just laying on the bottom of the cage now and panting really hard and it's killing me. I can't stand to watch ANYTHING be tortured. Not even in horror movies, where I know that it's fake. I just...can't handle watching things suffer in any way, shape, or form when there's nothing I can do to help them.
I know that she's lived a long life for a bird...and that she'll be in a better place...but it's still hard. Knowing that I won't hear her screech anymore every time my dad comes near her...or her overly-loud chirping that drives my sister crazy when she's trying to watch tv.
I'll miss her so much.
