I could be your temporary SIL and you could let me use those points for free
I can guarantee I understand the vaue of them and won't be iffy at all. I will happily make the sacrifice and go

You could also make them pay you say a $500.00 deposit. if the don't cancel they get it back, if they do after 31 days, then you keep it.
