So I'm planning a trip with my BF :love2: for the end of Aug. He claims to love Disney. i thought wow a match made in heaven. We will plan til we can plan no more! O boy was I wrong. His errors are so outrageous :scared1: they are adorable, so of course I thought they must be shared here!

#1. I don't really want to go to any of the parks, but we should def go to Epcot for dinner and the fireworks.
repsonse in my head  : sure they're just gonna get us in the gates free of charge to eat and watch fireworks.
actual response :rolleyes1 : sure whatever you want.

#2. I can't wait to ride the monorail. Our hotel runs on the monorail right. And then we can take it to anywhere?
response in my head  : Did you even look at the hotel website I sent you? Clearly no monorail there. And the monorail only runs to the Poly, CR, GF, MK, TTC, and Epcot!
actual response :rolleyes1 : no sorry we dont have monorail access. we can go ride it though if you like.

#3 We should def go to US/IOA. I think it might even be cheaper.
response in my head  : BLASPHMER! I was raised that giong to US is like going to the dark side. Did you forget we need to hire a taxi to take us there? Def not going to be cheaper!
actual response :rolleyes1 : sure whatever you want. If were heading over there all I ask is that we eat at Margaritaville.

well at least I know I wont run into him here on the DIS!

too funny! kudos to you for being so "agreeable!" I'm sure he'll see things your way by the time you leave WDW. :)

Gotta love those "experts". Good thing you exercised some restraint, or you might be going by yourself! humm, maybe that's not a bad thing. Have fun.

Husbands are just as bad. I was talking to our boys about Epcot. My husband said "Why are you talking about Epcot? We are goiing to Disney"

What?!!

I calmly expained that Epcot was part of Disney. But I was thinking. "You fool. We were there when Disney was just MK and Epcot. Don't you remember?"

This was great!!!
Look on the bright side, you're going to WDW!!!

Hahaha thats why I was so well behaved. By the end of the conversation I was pretty much just trying to maintain composure without falling on the ground and laughing at him. :rotfl2: :rotfl: Luckily I did! :flower:

Oh how sweet! He loves you so much that he likes to claim that he loves Disney because you love Disney. But maybe he does.. but has no knowledge of Disney.. And that's where you come in to teach him. And you're so sweet for just agreeing. :)

Hate to say this but it takes lots and lots of time and effort. Been going to Disney World several times a year for the past seven with my husband. Before that, two 10 day trips three years apart.

We finally have to going now where I just make the arrangements, tell him when we are going and then we discuss our plans on the way down. He's great once we get there but he just doesn't get into the details. And he still can't find his way around Animal Kingdom (although he does call it AK).

Statement to BF..."Ahhhhh grasshopper, there is sooo much to learn, the training shall begin...."

At least he says he loves Disney. That is half the battle. The rest is the fun part. :cool1:

Think of all the fun educating him and all of the trip you'll need to take together to do it. :earsgirl:

you can love Disney and not be an "expert"! :)

He's actually right - it IS cheaper! My annual pass to US/IOA was cheaper then a 3 day park pass at Disney!

First, let me say that it is very possible to "love Disney" and not be an expert. "Disney" means many things to many people. My wife loves Disney (loves all the movies, has most of them, etc...) but she has never been to any of the parks and thus she doesn't really know much about them...Her family couldn't really afford it when she was growing up and for the first time, we can afford it, so we are going in Oct. and now she is learning a lot about the parks for our trip.

But to directly address some of your conversation with him:
#1-This one confuses me a little. Call me crazy, but if you "love Disney", it would seem that you would want to go to the parks.

#2-I love Disney too...but since I was never the planner, there was probably a lot that I didn't know until I started planning this trip. I probably could name all the current resorts on the monorail, but I would not have been sure if others were on the monorail. I don't know much about your bf, but it is possible to love Disney and not know if your resort is on the monorail.

#3-To each his own, but I love Disney and I still plan on going to USF/IOA/SW/BGT while we are down there. Depending on how you do things, it could be cheaper to do some of the other parks.....but no matter what parks you are talking about down there, they are all expensive.

One thing is for sure though...He doesn't love Disney as much as you :sunny: .

Have fun on your trip.

haha yes I do understand you dont have to be an expert to love Disney. But he told me he loved WDW and has been like a million times. Its ok I'll just take him and let him learn while were down there. I'm going as a relaxation vacation so I'm actually hoping if anything we go to one park on one day and then just stay at the pool the rest of the time. I work full time and go to school full time on the weekends so I really need the peacefulness!
