Guess it's time for a new one?:confused3

The brush has always "hurt" my face a bit. My DD (16) freaks when I use it on her. I wash the brush every few weeks because it does seem to get worse the more I use it.

Today I was swirling the stuff on my face, down near my chin and I saw this little tiny smear of blood--almost like I nicked myself shaving. I though "where the heck did that come from?" Sure enough, right where I had swirled. One of the sharp bristles must of cut me. Weird.

That is weird.

I think the BE brushes are so soft compared to what I was usally using.

Maybe you poked something too hard?

I agree that every other brush I have from them is soft. But the Kabuki has always hurt my face. My DD is even worse about it. Even my mom (who has non-sensitive skin) says it is a little rough to her. Just the Kabuki one. I've had mine awhile and I think it is just getting worse. It is probably time to clean it also.

That's very strange. My kabuki is very soft. I've never felt sharp bristles.

Ok, I have to ask. What the heck is a kabuki brush :confused3 ? Never mind, I looked it up. I have one and never knew if had a special name:rotfl2: .

Okay, I just did a google search on the brush. It sent me to Makeup Alley and there are 199 reviews on this brush. I didn't read them all but the first page is FULL of reviews saying the brush hurts their faces.

I think it must be 10 times worse if you have sensitive skin--THAT'S ME!!:) I need to get it a bit softer because it really just provide GREAT coverage.

It may be the angle of the bristles and the angle of your hand. Could it also be pore size?

This is one of the reasons that I switched from BE to Jane Iredale. The BE always made my face tingle/sting. Wierd. I switched to Jane Iredale and I love it. The brushes are AMAZING. Of course, I had to take out a small loan to pay for it all ;) .

I have minimal to no pores so I don't think that's it. Also, it was down closer to my mouth were there's really no pores. I do have dry, sensitive skin though.

Interesting. I have larger pores so maybe I just don't feel it.

Christine,

There will be a TSV on QVC in November that has a new brush that you will LOVE! It's a cross between the Flawless Face and the Kabuki and it's super soft! It's out right now in these two kits -

I've had this brush since June, and I love it. I have always felt the BE Kabuki was too rough, and I have always used another kabuki. This new brush is super soft, and I hope you pick it up in one of these great kits. The QVC TSV will be a bareGold collection.

You probably don't have sensitive skin. The funny thing is, last week, I had a similar issue up higher on my cheek bone. I noticed after I put my make up on I had small dot of blood. Didn't attribute it to the brush until today. My brush is probably 2 years old. Again, I wash it about every 3 weeks. I didn't use to wash it that much, but it seems to be getting "caked" with makeup more often these days. It's probably time for a new one if it's now cutting my face.:lmao: But, it has always hurt my face.

I wonder if it will be sold separately in stores? I usually buy my stuff at Sephora or Ulta. Oh wait--we have a new BE Boutique near us--I'm sure they will have it. It sounds like JUST what I need. I was never happy with the coverage of the Flawless Face brush. I use that for the Warmth and it is wonderfully soft. Doesn't work well for the foundation though.

I am sure it will be sold as a single in stores at some point, but it may be a few months. I always love the kits because they are a great value, and this new brush will probably sell for $25-30. So, I'd spend a bit more, get the brush *and* some great new colors!

Basically this brush gives you a tad less coverage than a kabuki but more coverage than the Flawless Face. I really can't rave enough about it!

I cannot STAND BE's brushes. They don't feel good on my face either, sort of tingly!

I ordered Naked Minerals and their brush is like "buttah". I use it with my BE makeup, too.
