My Bday Celebration PTR.... UPDATED 8/2 What rides should we do????

Yayyy my very first PTR! We will be going to Disney August 19th- August 25th.

The cast:
Me- My name is Nicole. I am 21 yrs at the moment but will turn 22 in Disney! On Tuesday I will be graduating college with a BA in Mathematics and minor in Education - basically I am going to be a math teacher. I have only been to Disney once and it was like 10 years ago. I stayed in the contemporary with my family and loved it. I am also an obsessive planner which you may come to find out.

Scott- is 23. He is a fireman in the FDNY and LOVESSSSS it! He wouldn’t trade it for any job in the world. He has also been to Disney once and it probably wouldn’t phase him if he never went back lol but…. He loves me so he agreed to go.

Scott and I..... when looking through my pics it occured to me that I only take pictures of us in formal wear when we are going out to some big fire dept thing So this is the only normal pic I can find and its over 2 years old and I now have short hair...so I will def get a new pic soon!

Originally I was looking into cruises however since it is hurricane season my parents really didn’t like that idea. I didn’t want them to sit around worrying for a week and also didn’t want my itinerary changed because of a storm. SOOOOOOOOOO…………. my friend Kristen (xo kten ox) was planning a trip for her and Chris (her bf). So I started looking at hotels online and all that good stuff. I still wasn’t really sold yet because I wanted to go on a cruise. Oh and another BIG reason is that Scott (my BF) does not go on rides. He is afraid of heights and gets motion sickness….. This proposed a minor problem going to theme parks. However after talking it over he agreed he would go with me anyway. Again, I’m still not sold on going to Disney yet.
Then………………………………..










I found the 2009 free dining watch on the dis. After some figuring I found that it would be affordable with the free dining. The morning free dining was announced I had my alarm set for 6:50 and was up to make reservations for pop century. Thanks to the dis I found that I could book it right online. After five minutes I was booked and back to sleep.

Somewhere along the line I got this genius idea that I would get my brother (Bryan) and his girlfriend (Anna) to go. As soon as I mentioned it his girlfriend she was grinning from ear to ear (she has never been on vacation before and she is 17, never mind ever being to Disney). Bryan IMMEDIATELY said no. I knew I was going to have some HEAVY DUTY convincing to do!!!

DBF and I will be there 8/17 - 22. Unfortunately we weren't fast enough to get POP so we'll be as ASMu DBF is only going because he loves me, too I'm sure you will have a great time!! And I'm confident that between Anna and yourself Bryan can be convinced!! GL!!

Correction: 24hrs from now I will be leaving for graduation

As you might have read up above I majored in math becuz I wasn't so good in english and REALLY bad in history!
Im glad someone else decided to brave the august heat with me because all I hear when I tell ppl my dates is " UHHH it gonna be SO HOT!"

You & your bf are so cute together! Are you planning on teaching high school? I only ask because I work at a high school, and it is SO rewarding, but definitely has it's challenges. Good luck completing your education.

Yayyy I graduated college last night! It feels so goodddd, to bad I have to go back for my masters sometime next year.


So how am I going to get Bryan to give in and go to Disney World????

Each night I would pick a ride - thrill ride - find information about it online and get some cool pictures…..I would print out a paper with the name of the ride, info and pics…… My brother always comes home after I already go to sleep so I would tape a different ride to his computer every night!!! Then the next day I would ask him what he thought…..

In addition Anna was also badgering him about going….

I told them that if they came up with $500 each for a total of $1000 I would pay the rest for them. I think anyone would agree that this is an awesome deal!! Especially because plane tickets cost about $200 each to Orlando. That means I only have $600 toward the room and tickets…

If you remember Scott doesn’t ride rides so I would have to ride everything alone if Bry and Anna didn’t come. And Scott would have to stand in the sweltering heat all alone! If they go it will solve everything!!

One day Bryan finally started questioning me about the cost to go with us!!!!!! I was so excited he was finally caving in! Then he was still being a jerk about it ….

WELL GUESS WHAT?!?!?!?!


He FINALLY caved and gave me the go ahead to book the plane tickets!!! (which turned out to be another ordeal!!)

So my tactics worked and they are booked!

As for the plane tickets…… I had booked ours one day when I found them for $89 each way yay!!! $198 each awesome!! By the time Bryan said I could book theirs the tickets were $250 each…….I was not happy with this at all since I would be paying the difference after the $1000!….so since then I have been on the comp like a hawk watching the southwest website!! I finally purchase tickets for $210 each…. Tonight I went on southwest and the return trip was down to $79 …. Southwest allows to change your itinerary and get credit as many times as you want….. So I now have $80 southwest credit.

OK there is still one problem I haven’t told you!!! Scott and I are booked on the 8am flight and Bryan and Anna are booked on the 9:30am flight errrrrr What happened was….. The morning I booked Bry and Annas tickets the plan was to purchase their tickets for the 9:30 (Wayyyy cheaper than the 8 am) and then switch mine and Scotts to the 9:30. Well it never fails and as soon as I booked their tickets the prices went up A LOT!! So I couldn’t change ours…. Anyway at least now I have $80 credit to change one set of tickets so that all four of us are on the same flight!!!!

Nowww most of you are probably thinking that I am crazy and that this is way to much work, or quite frankly just plain stupid! LoL However, if you know anything about me I am a sucker for a good deal!!!! I am always looking for the absolute cheapest way to do/get something and will do almost anything to get it. And normally I will buy something I don’t need just because I have a coupon …it terrible!

So I already knew that you got Bryan and Anna to go obviously but I'm really happy you did! The whole flight thing is a little extreme but thats just how you are and i think it makes you feel better being obsessive about it We are control freaks and theres nothing we can do about it!

Uhhh I am addicted to say the least! I am certified to teach grades 7-12. When I student taught I taught 7th and 9th and loved the 9th graders even tho everyone dreads teaching ninth graders! On the other hand the math material is easier to teach and come up with creative ideas in the middle school! So i guess im looking for whatever job I can get! lol

Sorry I’ve been away so long! I honestly have no other excuse than pure laziness and that I was reading a good book and havn’t been able to tear myself away (I finished today haha)

I still havn’t got the plane ticket situation fixed yet…im getting a little impatient but I’ll figure it out!
I finally got all the ADR’s I want!!!
August 19th 8pm 1900 Park Fare (lated than I wanted but I will deal w. it)
August 20th 10:10am Tusker House (had a really rough time getting this!!!)
August 21st 12:20pm 50’s Prime Time
August 22nd 8:05am Kona Café (might have to cancel)
7:40pm Whispering Canyon Café
August 23rd 7:15pm Hoopdeedoo
August 24th 8:10am Crystal Palace (My birthday breakfast!!!)

Let me tell you how hard it was to get tusker house breakfast!!! Def not an easy task and I almost screamed with excitement when the CM told me they had this ressie availiable. Making ADR’s during free dining is insane!!! I called on the 90 day mark at 7am. When prompted I stated I wanted to make dining reservations. Had to wait 20 minutes for someone to answer. The women tells me I got the wrong person and she has to transfer me…. Well…. Then it was a 40 minute wait!!!!! I didn’t get home from NYC until 1:30 am and now I was up for reservations that seemed very unimportant at 7am!!! What part of “dining reservations” was wrong?!?!!? That’s what really annoyed me. Recently selecting ddp and then dining reservations seems to work although one time someone told me that was wrong too!

Suggestion: If you are going during free dining you better call at 7am on the dot!

What do you think about my adrs?? Dinners are a little late but its all I could get so we will make them work…..

On another note I made a disney excel spreedsheet out of sheer boredom about two weeks ago…. I cannot tell you how much it helped me the other day when I was on the phone with a CM making horseback riding and segway tour ressies! They didn’t have the time I needed so I was able to pull up the spreadsheet and see what other time slot I could fit it in! I know this seems really corney but now I can’t imagine not having it….
Next up: Day by day plans??

Anyway those are good ADRs. You're gonna hafta tell me how 50s PTC is and Kona although if you try the Tonga Toast I did try that and its heaven. And Chris is probably going to make fun of you soon because he just saw the picture of me and is calling me "Spartan shoes" and saw the spread sheet comment LOL
