My Baby Girl Is Turning 13-Time For Another Mom/Daughter WDW Trip!!

Great update Cammie! Love that Fulton's..... Looks like your sweet girl had a great night.:thumbsup2

:rotfl2: I order Spaghetti with sauce on the side too:lmao: I'm such a kid. LOL. Again those drinks look amazing. I have never gone to DTD I have to go on my next trip. I love the card how did it get to your rm?:confused3

congrats on the new trip! :thumbsup2

yep. sorry to say it is so. it's time for other priorities.....like having a baby! no, i'm not pregnant. but i'm hoping to be within the next 12 months. i think we're going to start trying after my NYC trip. i feel very lucky that i went 3 times in 2008 so i don't mind waiting until 2010. we're planning on going in december and taking a longer trip this time because we only had 4 days on this last december trip. and we're staying at VWL!!!!! (hopefully.) i've already got my budget worked out as to how much i need to put back every week once i get back from NYC. :lmao:

Thanks Dawn! And I guess you're doing the responsible thing by holding off on Disney for a little while. Will make the return in 2010 all the sweeter!

I hope everything goes according to plan for you and Ray!

:cool1:  :woohoo: :yay: :dance3: :cheer2:
Good job twisting Alan!!! I'm so looking forward to meeting everyone!! Wow, dinner looked awesome!!!

Didn't take much, did it?;) I'm really lookinig forward to the meet too!

I am going to price out a quick trip...we are AP holders, could do a Value for a couple nights...:rolleyes1 or just me on a solo trip...

Loved the update too! I wish I could shove all that food that Lauren does down my throat and still be that skinny!!

Just want to let you know, Brook - my buddy Kara got a FABULOUS rate at a value for Sat.nite! Just so you know......................:rolleyes1

I think it has something to do with if you suggest a room at check in that room wasn't going to be occupied that day so it wasn't cleaned. So they have to clean it when you get there. I remember the CM checking us in saying something along the lines of "WE have to get people over there to clean the room":confused3

Well, I do agree with what you said earlier - it certainly was worth the wait! I would just come better prepared next time!

You won't be alone - I'm going solo!!! At least my fam won't be with me.... that will be weird, too!

Cammie - I was laughing sooooo hard while she was texting me. She is a great kid and I can hardly wait to meet her again! Ally loved her! In December we'll have to spend longer than just 1/2 hr together and maybe hit a few attractions..... Unless you get your fill of Kara in May! :rotfl2:

There can never be too much Kara! And, please, the promise of hooking up with you and Ally in Dec. is all that is going to make Lauren feel better about me hanging with you in May; so yes, we should plan on longer than a 1/2hr. together!

Great update Cammie! Love that Fulton's..... Looks like your sweet girl had a great night.:thumbsup2

Does Fulton's every disappoint? Soooo good!

BTW Kathy - what are you doing in May?

What a nice dinner at Fulton's. I have to say it's never been on my Disney Radar but after reading about your meals there, it looks really yummy!

Brook, if you go in May your solo trip better extend to when I arrive on the 22nd!! Just saying!! ;) :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

Congrats on booking your May flights! So lucky that you get to go back again and join in the Dismeet!! :yay: :goodvibes

OMG all of the food at Fulton's looks sooo good (and so did the drinks ;) ), you're making me hungry! I love seafood and this looks great. I like to hear about all the shopping people do there...not like Disney really needs anymore of our money but even the shopping done there makes good memories. :cutie: And those desserts from Goofy's...WOW! Can't wait to have me some of those. I would have went with the marshmallows too :thumbsup2

You are all so sweet! :goodvibes

I looked up round trip airfare today for May, Minneapolis to Orlando...

$130!! Sooooooooo cheap!!

Then I looked at my work calendar. My co-worker/partner in crime is out that Friday and Monday and therefore, I CANNOT be. :guilty: I would be able to leave Friday night/Saturday morning and return Sunday night, but even though airfare is unheard of cheap, I seriously don't think I can justify spending that much money for such a short time.

Sigh.

BUT IF MY CO-WORKERS PLANS CHANGE, I'M BOOKING IT!

Hi Cammie, I'm a stranger here, but I just wanted to say that I'm really enjoying this TR. Your daughter is beautiful, and doesn't seem to have that "teenage" attitude at all! My DD is 8, and I hope she's still as sweet as Lauren at 13! So far we haven't been on any trips just the 2 of us, but I think it would be SO much fun!!

Also, Fulton's looks just ridiculously good. I'm going there next time, and the price be-darned!!! I think I'll give evening EMHs at MK a try, too. It looked INCREDIBLE!!!

Can't wait to read the rest and get more ideas!!!! ;)

oh don't say that the airfare is that cheap from Mpls to Orlando. Now they will really work on twisting my arm. the big bummer part is that Springfest is that weekend. it is one of the major fundraisers for school and church. I can't shirk my responsibilty. sorry. oh sooo close to a trip.

love those pretzels--i wish I would have known they were part of the DDP.

Well, I do agree with what you said earlier - it certainly was worth the wait! I would just come better prepared next time!

:

My family needs to come better prepared too!!!! We left for NY where it was below freezing so everyone but my dad (he wore shorts which made sense once we got to VA) was wearing pants, and my poor aunt was wearing long johns. It was 80 when we got to disney and at that point everyone (except my dad) was wishing they had there shorts more easible accesible. We thought my aunt (in the long johns) was going to pass out walking around the resort.

Next year we are all going to either wear shorts all the way to Florida or have them all a lot easier to get to once we got there.,

You all are making me jealous of your DISMeet:goodvibes

When I get a job in the next couple of months that is on my radar....a solo (without family) trip.

Good for you Cammie, booking your May trip...

I am so glad you post so much about DTD... I have a few must do's for our November trip that I know my boys will love. Growing up 45 minutes from the World, I have always shunned DTD since it reminded me that I wasn't going to Disney that day:) And, being a teen, sporting Disney merchandise was so "uncool" unless it was "dress like a tourist" day at school.

Could anyone tell me where Club Cool is located, getting my unsuspected DH to sip a Beverly is also on my to do list...

Hi Cammie! Sitting here with some wine in my Mickey wine glass enjoying your TR. Figured I should come out of lurkdome to tell you how much I have enjoyed your TR. I make a few trips a year with my DS16. Hubby isn't the Disney fan that we are. But he buys us AP's. So I enjoy the time with my son. He has one more year of school and then off to college so I enjoy the time while I can. I'm sure you can relate with your time with Lauren( who is adorable by the way). Love her blue and red ties on her braces. I work for an orthodontist(two actually, one with patients and one I make retainers for) so I work with the kids in choosing their colors all the time. It makes having braces so much more fun.
Anyway, loving your TR and after just returning from a trip for ESPN the weekend (ESPN is DS's favorite, it's constantly on in my house) I may be inspired to write my own TR.

After you walk under spacesip earth and you reach the fountain behind it look to the left and you should see the huge club cool sign. It also should be on the park map:yay:

Or maybe you need to push your trip back a week!:rolleyes1

I was so shocked at how cheap the flights were! Under $200! I haven't seen prices like that in years - that sealed the deal for me!:thumbsup2

If you haven't tried Fulton's before and you like seafood, I say it's a must-do. It is a little pricey, but they will do half-orders. I've been going there since it was the Empress Lily - it holds a dear place in my heart.

And choc.-covered marshmallows are the way to go!

You are all so sweet! :goodvibes

Oh Brook - that airfare sounds too good to pass up. I found good prices too! Keeping my fingers crossed for a change in plans for your co-worker!

Fulton's is ridiculously good! We love it. And, yes - Lauren is a very good girl. Everyone tells me to just wait - I'll see attitude soon; but so far, so good. Hope you get to take a one-on-one trip with your DS soon - it's very fun and special!

oh don't say that the airfare is that cheap from Mpls to Orlando. Now they will really work on twisting my arm. the big bummer part is that Springfest is that weekend. it is one of the major fundraisers for school and church. I can't shirk my responsibilty. sorry. oh sooo close to a trip.

Twist, twist, twist, Laura. You may not see airfare like that again for awhile!

My family needs to come better prepared too!!!! Next year we are all going to either wear shorts all the way to Florida or have them all a lot easier to get to once we got there.,

It was my own fault and I could kick myself. I'm sure we would have been much happier too if we were dressed properly. I don't know what my problem was - we went from the car right into the airport terminal; we would have been FINE in spring clothes! I'll remember it for next time!

You all are making me jealous of your DISMeet:goodvibes

When I get a job in the next couple of months that is on my radar....a solo (without family) trip.

I'm convincing myself that I should do a big girls trip every year. Maybe you can make the trip in 2010?

Good for you Cammie, booking your May trip...

My girls and I LOVE DTD! We always have it as a schedulled stop during our trips to Disney! It's funny - at Lauren's school now, it's kind of "cool" to wear Disney clothes; she'll wear anything w/Mickey and Tink on it!

Hi Cathy!:wave2: Thanks for coming out of lurkdom! I'm sitting here drinking wine too - but out of my plain boring wine glass. I wish I had gotten the mickey ones!

I soooo dread Lauren getting older! It makes me sad to think she'll be away at college soon and may not want to vacation with dear old mom anymore! Heck, I'm dreading the high school years, wondering how I'll manage to pull her out for a week for our trips!

And I have to laugh about you noticing her bands on her braces. She had chosen red and blue for her last visit in January because the Giants were in the playoffs and we're big fans. Well, we all know what happened there!:sad2: She just had them switched this week - chose hot pink!:teeth:

How do I always miss your TRs! I am an idiot! Here is where you have been (mainly ) hanging out! I love your pix!!! Now I am jealous I can't meet you in May! Maybe I just will!!!! I love your daughter and I have never even met her! She is a doll. Love ya Cammie!

It does get harder to take the kids out of school when they get to HS. I try not to take DS out for more than 2 or 3 days. I'm lucky that he is a high honor roll student and responsible about making up the work he misses.

Off topic but I wanted to fill you guys in on an interesting phone call I received from the Disney Vacation Club today.............

I got very excited when the phone rang and I checked the caller ID and it said "Disney Vac. Club". I don't know why but I'm always thinking they're calling me to tell me I won something!

Anyway, a few years ago, DVC was looking for members to submit photos from their vacations to be used in the DVC newsletter. So I sent in a picture of Lauren, Amanda, and I from Dec.2004 of the three of us at a DVC xmas party w/ Mickey & Minnie that was held right outside Epcot. So far, it had not been used. Well the call today was to tell me that they are using our picture -- but not in the newsletter but in the new DVC vacation planner being released this spring! These are the vacation guides that are mailed out to all DVC members and contains all of the point requirements for vacations stays. I'm so honored and excited! So, if any of you are DVC members, look for our picture in your new planner when you get it!

I think we are now somewhat famous!:cool2:

Is there any way non DVC (like me) could get a copy? I'd love to see it!
