Dh came home from work yesterday and we packed up the kiddos and went to this years "parade of homes." it was touted as being "more scaled down and more affordable" this year---I don't consider high $300,000 to high $400,000 affordable, but dh did mention that the houses in the parade are usually $1 million or more, so this IS more affordable.

We decided to save time and swing by McDogfood's on the way. In an attempt to stay healthier and not pack in extra calories, I declined my usual quarter pounder with cheese and fries and instead ate a fruit and yogurt parfait (with granola) and just a few of dh's fries. And I drank water instead of the normal Coke.

So we go to the home show....up and down stairs, serious exercise walking around. I start to get hungry. No problem...there's a big thunderstorm rolling in....the kids are getting bored looking at other people's houses they can't have, so we'll just go home and eat. I'm 20 minutes from home and I"M STARVING. I realize, I'm going down if I don't eat---SOON. So we stop by Fazolis. By the time our food gets there, I'm SOOOOOO hungry, I am nauseated and an only pick at it, but I do drink a lot of Coke trying to get my blood sugar up. (I'm like ds, if we let ourselves get TOO hungry we get shakey and grey and nauseated)

Finally we head home. I'm still not perking up. I crash on the couch. And then 15 minutes later, I'm puking. All evening it's back and forth to the bathroom. I head to bed about 11:30-ish. I was able to not puke anymore overnight, but I was up 1/2 the night fighting the nausea.

Today I feel better (no nausea) but I am WIPED out! My kids are disappointed b/c we were supposed to go to the children's science museum in town today with grandma and grandpa and with their cousins who are in from North Carolina. We're hoping to reschedule that for tomorrow. Dh (pediatrician) thinks it was food poisioning from the yogurt as I haven't been exposed to ANYONE who is remotely sick and I only had vomiting, not diarrhea (THANK GOD!)

I did step on the scale today and I've lost 1 1/2 pounds since yesterday!!! But I probably made that up this morning with my Sprite, jello and sherbert! :) So here my plan to lose weight and stay healthier backfired. Guess next time I go for the quarter pounder! ;)

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeek!

That is not the way to lose it, yuck! I hope you feel better soon. Next time go for the Happy Meal! ;) My goodness, what a rough day you had! My cousin had some yogurt for breakfast the other week (just some they had at home) and she ended up getting sick from it later that morning. Puts me off yogurt for a while now!

I'm sorry, but I can't stop laughing at your post. I do feel bad that you had such a terrible day, but you tell it so incredibly well, that I could have been the one puking! I hope you're feeling better, and that you are rewarded by getting to keep your loss. You do deserve it!

Never Surrender!

Well, thank of it this way...if the yogurt was bad, no telling how long the beef might have been sitting out! I say you were doing an awesome job of staying on track in the face of junk food heaven! I bet the smell of fries was all over that car!:p

I hope you're feeling better soon!

Have you been tested for hypoglycemia? I have it and if I skip a meal, not only do I get green and shakey, but I often get really REALLY sick -- and it lasts from 12-24 hours.

You might want to mention this to your doctor and see if you can have a glucose tolerance test.

I keep some snacks in the car or my purse at all times, in case I don't have time to eat, so that I don't have to grab the first thing I see. It used to be those peanut butter/toast crackers, but now I keep some of the Weight Watchers 2-point bars.

Hope you're feeling better!!

{{{HUGS}}} sweetie, sorry you were so ill last night.

It could have been food poisoning or it could have been a virus. I've always wondered where those stomach viruses come from, I mean someone has to be the first one to have the virus, right? So, where did they get it? They pass it on but no one passed it to them....ah, another of life's mysteries ;)

I hope you are feeling 100% better very soon :)

Hugs to you, Ohiominnie!! I hope you are feeling much better now!!
