Please disregard this post. I didn't realize what I was asking was so complicated. Sorry, I didn't mean to upset anyone.

It seems like more people are reporting they can't make their FP+ window. It's great of Disney to offer them another FP if they miss one, but isn't that the same as having more than 3?

I know there are different types of people. Some are planners and some are not, and some fall in the middle. The way Disney is pushing the new FP+ system, there are a lot of non planners booking FPs that they may or may not use.

I'm not saying that FP+ should only be for planners. I think everyone should have the option. But if you decide not use what you have book, please cancel it. If Disney does begin to offer a 4th FP, it could add to the availability.

I'm guessing you haven't used the system yet? Unless things have changed, you can't just go in and cancel one FP+. You can move it to something else or change times, but you can only cancel all 3 together, not a single one. Not only that, but you can only move or change it if something else is available, so if everything is booked up (we had it show up that way one day) then you have no choice but to let it just go to waste. Also, in our experience, MDE was glitchy and did not work well in the parks- it was pretty hard to get it to work at all when we were there. Pretty much the best you can hope for is that if someone doesn't want, or isn't going to use all 3, that they make the one they aren't going to use for, or change it to, something that doesn't need a FP+ anyway.

You can not cancel just one FP as far as I know. I've tried to cancel our last one, and it says something like FP selections have already been used, so it won't let you cancel. If we're not going to make our FP and I can't change it to something I want, then I try to switch it to something that won't be taking a needed FP away from other guests (ex. Philharmagic, LMA, etc).

No, I haven't been yet. Sorry about the post. I guess the days of giving a paper fast pass you decided not to use to a stranger is long gone. There seems to be a flaw in the new system for changing your mind. My apologies for the post.

I wish that there was a way to cancel and with any luck that will be an option too. I suppose that people could change their FP+ to very unpopular rides to free up good rides but I don't see that as likely.

While you can't cancel just one fastpass, you CAN change a highly coveted fp+ to a not so coveted one. Such as: You have a FP to Anna and Elsa that you aren't going to use. Change it over to say, the Haunted Mansion, and let a sweet little kiddo who is dying to see them...have the opportunity.

If the FP that you want to throw away, is for a non-coveted ride, then it shouldn't matter anyhow. At least from my perspective. Of course, I have been working with not as busy days, so it might matter for a busy day.

I think eventually they will offer the ability to do individual cancellations, but they don't yet. I have felt guilty before about not being able to cancel ones I was not able to use - but there's nothing that can be done at this point. I have been known to wake up and decide to go to a different park and just cancel all three though. Now if I could just do the same with ADRs without a penalty . . . . . .:rolleyes1

You're adorable! Do you have any idea what is involved in even trying to get the stupid app to load properly over a busy time like spring break? I confess freely and without shame that I did not use a FP when we there and there is NO WAY I would have wasted one more second of my time trying to cancel it. That's all on Disney, not me.

Yes you can cancel just one. The only problem is once you cancel just one or two you can't decide later to go back and add 1 or 2 back in. I made that mistake and had to start over to get my 3.

Okay, all these posts saying you can't cancel one made me think I was crazy so I just logged in to see how I did it and sure enough I was able to again. Now I'm sure if you are past the window it may not be the case but here's how I did it,

I went into MDE Fastpass plus chose the day and a screen comes up with 4 options like this

Select or Replace

Change

Copy

Cancel

If you select cancel it brings up a screen with everyone's FP on your profile and you can click individual rides for each individual person and cancel whatever you want.

Now like I said if you cancel them you can't go back and add unless you are doing all three again replacing any other selections but it does let you hold less than 3. I did this for one night we are doing DTD all day then going to Epcot for Biergarten and just wanted to ride Maelstrom.

If the Wi-Fi wasn't awful and I didn't have to spend so much time and effort figuring out how to cancel it, I'd do it. :sad2:

We've done both - moved a Star Tours FP we weren't going to use - told the CM at the kiosk to move it to something undesirable so someone else could have it (he chose American Idol - apparently not something that needs a FP). And on our last trip (January) we found out from one of the Guest Relations CMs with the ipads that you can now cancel one single FP - and we've done that but as someone else mentioned - you can't get it back.

I hope now that offsite folks can use the app (from what I've read) that the kiosks will be less crowded.

I do agree it would be great if everyone would cancel or move a FP they are not going to use but I sadly think it is unlikely to catch on.

If they don't cancel it, then that makes the standby line go that much faster. No big deal, IMO.

No can do Op, sorry but first I hate the hassle of making these stupid things. No way am I getting on my phone and wasting vacation time to cancel them.

We didn't cancel ones unless we were changing them to others. Like one evening we went to Epcot and did all the things I had FP for on the following day.... so while we were there the night before our FP's, we changed one to get the one we really wanted.

I can't imagine spending that much time tied to a device to cancel all the time. Some waits in the mornings and evenings allowed us to do them without the FP, but there wasn't necessarily anything else we'd have switched them to.

You can only get another one from what is still available at that point of the day.

And even if you dont make it, it just means someone in standby gets that spot.

I showed up for my Safari FP at AK - the FP line was HUGE - blocks long outside the entry.

No way I was going to bother to cancel. The FP was worthless. The regular line was shorter. ????

True, sometimes I feel like throwing it to the standby line.

Just want to go on record as saying that I will most likely not cancel FP+'s that I reserve.

In fact, I have a 10-day non-expiring ticket, and will most likely book FP+'s for days that I don't plan to definitely be at the parks. But I'll book them as a "just in case". We have 2 water park days planned, but we *might* end up going to a park on the evenings of these days. I will book the more hard-to-get FP+'s that are not on our "must do" list. This way, if we decide to go, we can do those things without waiting.
