Back in May my bag with all my credit cards and such was stolen from me. Included in that stuff was my AP. I called WDW and then just said I would need to go the Guest Relations to get another AP. On the night we arrive we will not get in till probaly midnight or later. Will I have a problem getting my room with my AP in hand? I will not be able to get another one till the next morning.
TIA

No worries! I have never been asked to show my AP when checking in. Even if they do ask for your AP, you can tell them about losing it and that you will show it to them the next day. I am sure that the CM will be very understanding.

I have also lost my AP and it was really, really easy to get it replaced. That's one of the things I really like about APs :).

I learned from this board that you have the CM
make copies of the back of all of your AP's and then
put that in a safe place! It's as almost as good as
having the pass...They just have to get the numbers
off of it. I also kept my receipt from the Disney Store
that I bought it from! Just a tip for next time...

And a very good tip, too, for PH's, PHP's, and unactivated AP/PAP vouchers. But this is actually not needed with an activated AP. Once you have activated it, you are already in the computer database. All you need to do is present a photo ID at a Guest Relations location and you will get the AP/PAP replaced immediately with no hassle.

Just to confirm how easy it is to get a new AP, when we were at AKL Oct 15-20 my mom left her AP in the room when we went to breakfast at Kona Cafe in the Poly. Our plans were to go right to MK after breakfast and when we got to the gates she realized she left the AP back at AKL. If we went back to get it we would have been gone at least an hour so instead she went to guest services while my fiancé and I went in to get FPs for Splash (since only they could ride anyway, not me because I'm pregnant, we only needed 2). She has a photo id, but it has her maiden name on it, not the last name that's on her AP, so we were a little worried since the names wouldn't match so I was prepared to show mine since I have the same last name as her AP. Well they didn't even ask for any id, just asked her what her home address was and they printed out the new ticket. It's sorta funny because we realized then that when her finger scan doesn't work, they ask her to see a photo id and no CM has ever commented on the fact that the names on the AP and her id don't match.

Also, I was told once at check-in (since they've never asked for our APs either) that if you already have the AP they don't ask you to show it because it's listed in their computer so you shouldn't have any problems at check-in. The CM told us that they usually only ask if you just got the AP that day or if you have a voucher. I'm sure there are excpetions, but that's what they told us.

Thanks everyone.
Justhat, was there a fee to get a new one for your mom? I heard it's about $10.00.

Nope, we didnt' have to pay a fee for the replacement, they just gave her a new card. And it was a cuter picture too--it almost made me want to say I lost mine to see what picture I'd get!

Hi!

I'm sorry that your AP got stolen.

When we exchanged our voucher for the AP, the CM asked me to hold onto the voucher (also acts as a receipt) in case we lost, misplaced or had our AP stolen.

The voucher when brought to customer service eases the process of getting a new one.

Perhaps you have your voucher for the AP tucked away.

Hope this helps.

Renee

Very strange. Our CM did not return our vouchers when we exchanged ours for APs. He stamped them "void" and they were never seen again. It was a very strange transaction and I felt lucky to get the APs at all! Fortunately I still have the original receipt from the Disney Store where we bought them.

My AP doesn't have a picture????

I WAS asked to show my AP at check-in. I had a CM who was "earning her ears" and she was following step-by-step down the training manual ...

No APs have photos anymore, they use a finger scan now instead. I remember the ones I had from 1987-1989 had photos though. We kept our AP receipt too, but of course we kept it in a safe place and didn't carry it around with us so when my mom forgot hers in the room we didn't have any proof of buying the AP. But like I said, we didn't need it, they just asked her for her home address and when it matched the screen they printed a new ticket out and gave her a new little booklet/holder thing and she was on her way. They said the one she left in the room was automatically voided so she could throw it out if she wanted to.

during some other trips we have not been asked to show our AP card at check-in, but at our recent Swan trip, the woman at the desk asked for photo id and our AP.

p.s. my husband lost his AP during our trips (fell out of his pocket somewhere in the parks) and we simply went to guest relations, presented some photo id, i showed them my AP and they printed out a new one for my husband--no charge, no wait.

good luck!
