My AP-ALOOZA Continues (WE RENEWED!!) ~ NEW TR link posted!

Great FoF photos!! We usually skip the parades (except the electrical parade!), but maybe we need to give this a try!

Gotta love the fun things that kill time when waiting around with a toddler! Those running and bouncing pics made me smile! :goodvibes

I am going to start to sound like a broken record on this parade but it is seriously beautiful. I made Andrew watch it in October despite his aversion to parades (which I also have) and he loved it too.

Hahaha yes, funny how those silly moments are some great things we remember. And it is amazing how kids can amuse themselves with just about anything.

Of course I post about the May plans and then Lynda throws a kink in everything! :rotfl: Her boyfriend Aron is probably going to come now. He is a sweet guy and great with Aria, so that is cool (I was a little disappointed for a minute) BUT it means getting our own rooms at Shades so now we are back up to about $700 for the week, which is double what I was expecting. Sooo we chatted about the condos again (2+ bedrooms) and one that I have been dying to come up - Wyndham Bonnet Creek - is available that week in May! (1 day off - May 10-17). Splitting the cost it'll actually be cheaper than Shades. While not walking distance to the monorail, it is super close to EPCOT and I have been really wanting to check it out. So I think that is what we have decided on!

Of course, now the dates are Sunday-Sunday. And I am not good at sitting around friday & saturday in anticipation of a disney trip, so I started looking into Friday-Sunday places to stay for just Aria & me. I think I have settled on the Boardwalk Villas if there is a studio available! Unless I get Aria an AP starting in May (doubtful), we will probably go Park-less fri&sat and I think the Boardwalk is a great place to do that! Soooo with that said, here are my thoughts:

5/8: Arrive early, check in, go to the pool. Dinner at Trattoria al Forno

5/9: Breakfast at Cape May, Pool time, maybe some mini golf/renting a mickey mouse boat/renting a surrey; dinner at Flying Fish

5/10: go to Universal, meet Lynda & Aron here (they will prob get their own rental car), dinner - ? Maybe California Grill, move over to the Condo

5/11: 8AM BBB for Aria, MK, lunch at CRT, stay for FoF parade & dinner at BoG

5/12: 8AM Tusker House ADR, AK, lunch at Y&Y, then hop to EPCOT, dinner at Garden Grill

5/13: Water park - leaning to Blizzard Beach, dinner at 1900 Park Fare

5/14: Go back to Universal for the day (2day tickets are not much more than 1 day tickets and are good for 14 days!). Aria & I go to Chef Mickeys & the Pirate & Pals cruise, Lynda & Aron have a date night.

5/15: 8am Crystal Palace, MK, hop to EPCOT - dinner unsure

5/16: 8am Hollywood & Vine, DHS, then head over to DTD, dinner at Raglan Road then go to Disney Quest

5/17: pool time & flight home

So some thoughts on the May trip and then I will comment on a few TR updates that I got behind on (dang work getting in the way :rotfl2:)

Overall plans sound great. I believe that Flower and Garden going on at that time - just wondering if you might want a little more time at EPCOT if it is to look at all the topiaries and the butterfly gardens ... and they have been adding more and more food and beverage kiosks as well to that. So might want to keep that in mind for meals/food as well

Definitely think if you are going to do BBB makes sense to do that before CRT. One thing you could look to do is a pre-park appointment at BBB then right up to breakfast at CRT

Evening of doing Chef Mickey's and then the Pirates and Pals cruise sound like a ton of fun for a kid!

As far as your pass goes, I guess it depends if (how many times) you think you might go between December 2015 and April 2016. If you think that might be one or 2 trips probably makes the most sense to wait and get a new AP. BTW - is there a lot in Disney Quest for younger kids? I haven't been there so more curious than anything but seemed like something more for older kids (but I might have the wrong impression)

OK, now I got to the revised plans, so some additional thoughts :rotfl2:

I have always wanted to stay at Bonnet Creek so fully support that idea!

We did mini golf on our trip last October and really had a ton of fun with it (we did the Winter/Summer one) so also support that :thumbsup2

****************

Love Aria's interactions with the princesses and love how excited Cinderella seems to meet her as well :goodvibes

We ate at Pinocchio's for the first time this last trip and, other than it being a bit crazy and challenges in finding a seat, really liked it. We too got the caprese pizza and the kids got regular kids pizzas and thought it was all rather good - a nice change of pace from regular Disney pizza.

Sounds like some nice presents you got for Aria. While they are definitely not my style, the Kincade paintings certainly are pretty

Glad Aria was more into the parades - she looks very cute waving to all the characters :goodvibes. I am so bummed that the FoF parade was rained out for us so we haven't seen it yet (well, I mean, we live streamed the premier for it so we have "seen" it, just not in person) ... oh well, a reason to go back.

I think they added A&E to the float last minute so that is why they only got 1/2 the spinning area. Ideally I think they could put together a pretty great Frozen float based on the floats they have done

Good timing in getting the Ariel doll before the Ariel M&G!

That is awesome about the condo for May! I think the Boardwalk is a great place to be if you have two park-less days. So much to do in that area. I think your plans so great!

Your FoF pictures are so good. They make me disappointed that we missed seeing it in September. Hopefully it will be around for a while so that I get to see it at some point!

Aria is so cute meeting all of the characters.

Love the idea of doing Christmas shopping for Aria while she naps. Those are nice paintings!

Aw, that’s cute with Aria wearing her Ariel dress while playing with her new Ariel doll!

I totally agree about the Festival of Fantasy parade! I am not a big parade person either, but just LOVED it. They hit a homerun with that one – so fascinating! :thumbsup2

How cute that Aria was calling out to the characters. Glad she had a good time.

Upcoming trip:

That’s right – I forgot all about Trattoria al Forno. Interested to see how you like it.

Revised schedule looks good. Glad you can try out Bonnet Creek and keep your costs down – win/win!

Hmmmm, if we take our trip as planned, it would be fun to meet up at Raglan Road or something. Then again, I have absolutely nothing planned right now, so not sure where we’ll be that day, etc. We'll see how things work out.

Awww, Aria with her little ponytail and her Ariel doll watching FoF is just the cutest!!! She looks so excited for the parade. It is really one of the best daytime parades I have seen.

I am so excited for y'all to get to try out Bonnet Creek! I think you will really like it. It's so crazy to be "off property" and yet be so close to everything. :goodvibes

that is true, thanks for the reminder on the booths. Though I tend to still never eat at the booths (#1 bc I don't eat most of what is served anyway. #2 bc i hate waiting in lines lol)

I thought about that but hate to use up a precious first hour of the park opening for breakfast. I'd rather run around from 9-12 getting in a bunch of rides and then relax with lunch before Aria's nap (assuming she still takes a nap then)

Evening of doing Chef Mickey's and then the Pirates and Pals cruise sound like a ton of fun for a kid!

As long as nothing changes in the baby dept, i could see going for Aria's 4th birthday (end Jan 2016) or maybe March or even early May again - definitely more than the ZERO times I'll be able to go between Dec-May 2015 lol. I am leaning towards just getting a new one, plus I'm waiting for my little bonus to actually show up in my paycheck (could be months, who knows) before i purchase the AP.

For DisneyQuest, I do think it is geared to older kids. I just looked up info (since it's been a while!) - one thing to note is most are "group" activities so we'd all work together to complete them.

Explore Zone: (no height requirements)

Pirates of the Caribbean
Aladdin's Magic Carpet Ride (this one I think Aria would enjoy)
Virtual Jungle Cruise (she'd love this one too)
Treasure of the Incas (she'd like this one)

Create Zone:

Radio Disney Song Maker (this could be fun!)
CyberSpace Mountain (51" hieght requirement, so that isn't happening)
Animation Academy (we'll see about this one, not sure if she would enjoy it)
Sid's Create a Toy (create a virtual doll toy, then you can actually go purchase it - she'd love to do this)
Magic Mirror (take a photo of yourself then do all sorts of fun things to it)
Living Easels (she'd enjoy this too)

Replay Zone

Buzz Lightyear Astroblaster (Min height of 51", boo - this one is a LOT of fun, so we may have to take turns riding it)
Arcade (ehh we'll see)

Score Zone

Mighty Ducks (48")
Daytona (driving game, she'd prob enjoy doing it with me)
Ride the Comix (virtual reality, idk)
Invasion (all work as a team so she could enjoy it)

Since it'll be free for Aria since her ticket includes WPF&M I think it'll be a fun way to spend an hour or two, not a whole night.

I have always wanted to stay at Bonnet Creek so fully support that idea!

We did mini golf on our trip last October and really had a ton of fun with it (we did the Winter/Summer one) so also support that :thumbsup2

Yeah I like the winter summerland one better, but we may just do the one we can walk to, though we will have a car so it won't really matter I guess. Bonnet Creek is beautiful and the location is just wonderful.

A dedicated Frozen float would be wonderful, I hate how we have had bad luck getting them to be turned towards us. That is too bad that it rained out for you :(

Pinocchios was definitely a nice change of pace. It was a bit crazy getting a table and all that but since we just needed a little two-top it wasn't too bad I guess. Certainly not as nicely coordinated as BoG where they bring you your food!

That is awesome about the condo for May! I think the Boardwalk is a great place to be if you have two park-less days. So much to do in that area. I think your plans so great!

Aria is so cute meeting all of the characters.

Thank you!! That is what I am thinking too. If the Boardwalk studio isn't available, I might try out Old Key West (which takes the same number of points as BWV, surprisingly) due to its closeness to DTD. Maybe even go back to AKV with a savannah view studio since I do love the pools there, even if the location is less than ideal but that won't matter if we aren't going to the parks and staying out late.

Hahah the Ariel doll has still been a big hit at home, so it was a good purchase, Plus she played with it for the rest of the trip too. Seeing her watch the parade really made the whole experience that much better. It's sort of why the MNSSHP parade was actually a bit of a let down, because it wasn't very character oriented and was a bit too creepy for her.

I forewarned Andrew about my nap-time shopping habits, and during an October DHS day I went a little overboard while he was riding RnRC. :rotfl2:

LOL this is fairly up in the air too (for the next week anyway, then I'm going to book ADRs haha). I am still waiting to hear from lynda about whether there are any that she def doesn't want to do (esp CRT since I have to pre-pay for that!). Raglan Road is one I LOVE and keep skipping over, though at DTD T-Rex is a blast too. It would be awesome to meet up, let me know if you start to work on your plans!

Awww, Aria with her little ponytail and her Ariel doll watching FoF is just the cutest!!! She looks so excited for the parade. It is really one of the best daytime parades I have seen.

Yeah exactly! It's why I've liked Silver Lake, though Bonnet Creek looks 100x nicer than silver lake, and it is even closer to everything, so very excited for it. I hope it is still available to book this weekend.

Thank you!! She has so much fun watching the parade too.

After that fun, we needed to head out - we only had an hour or so to get back to the room to shower and get dressed for dinner at California Grill!

But, we always have time for more photopass pics...

16097_10100197968516651_59651777627278739_n.jpg

Then we really did need to head out of the park! So we walked back to our room at BLT.

1509783_10100198227517611_8242644281780194046_n.jpg

Saw this guy on the way

10639410_10100198227552541_281211342549660953_n.jpg

Then we quickly showered and changed and then walked over to the California grill (via 3 elevators lol!). We checked in and were led upstairs and were seated at an ok table - not next to the window but no biggie as our reservation was way too early for Wishes viewing anyway.

10640987_10100198227592461_6203010075346908055_n.jpg

I ordered my must-have Martini here, the Washington Apple Martini

10659336_10100198227662321_7316888546806271881_n.jpg

And I took a step out on a limb and ordered a corn and halibut soup. FANTASTIC!!

1509814_10100198227707231_5158281349932113636_n.jpg

I ordered Aria the kids chicken, which she didn't eat very much of honestly. She enjoyed my soup though!

10676173_10100198227747151_3201283170862891284_n.jpg

Then I took this pic and posted it on Facebook, and a friend responded that I need to say hi to a certain chef for him!

10350605_10100198227787071_7397393640969321064_n.jpg

So the next time my waiter came over, I asked for him to send that chef over! In the meantime, my main dish arrived - this is the bell & evans chicken with truffles and wild mushrooms. O.M.G. amazing. The richness of the truffle oil (also in the mashed potatoes) - just delightful.

10622814_10100198227846951_3992772283485931360_n.jpg

While I was enjoying this, the chef came over and I introduced myself as friends of so and so. We got to talking and it turns out his wife and children vacation in Rhode Island all summer long only about 20 minutes from where we live! He was super friendly and it was nice to meet him.

Oh I also ordered some wine with my main dish ;)

10644940_10100198227856931_8851494971015232600_n.jpg

Before I had a chance to order dessert, my waiter came by with a dessert sampler for me, and a rice krispie sushi dessert for Aria - compliments of the chef! WOW!

1525735_10100198227941761_6770098329864661003_n.jpg

Stunned, I fully enjoyed all of my dessert and Aria really had fun with hers as well. While eating, I noticed the waiter of the table next to us was cutting the kid's meal into bite sized pieces! I wish my waiter would do that at every restaurant for Aria! haha

10653452_10100198227971701_8357556528780460628_n.jpg

On our way out we stopped at the bathroom. Sorry for the random pic, but anytime a bathroom had a "baby hands" (what Aria calls the little sinks) she was very excited to use it.

10641133_10100198227991661_2305856945131830150_n.jpg

As if our day hadn't been full enough - we headed to the POOL after dinner!

10405379_10100198228071501_6321028650637919046_n.jpg

Here is the small-ish BLT pool

10628601_10100198228101441_4339749529094148221_n.jpg

I never had a chance to go down the big slide, but thankfully they had a small slide which was the hit of the pool for Aria.

10312530_10100198228176291_8404268985425298702_n.jpg

There is also a perfect toddler sized splash pad which was really fun

15254_10100198228495651_506451805795916968_n.jpg

But then we went back to the slide!

10665929_10100198228565511_1388058483922973159_n.jpg

Then we called it a night - a quick shower and then some Duffy bedtime stories and then we were both out. I think i forgot to mention previously that the night before I never even heard Wishes as I slept so soundly. I think this evening I did wake up briefly during the finale, but not awake enough for me to get out of bed and watch it!

Coming up...EPCOT! Lunch at coral reef, dinner at Beaches & Cream, and Top of the World Lounge with TheMaxRebo & family!

Your May plans sound great!! I couldn't sit around Fri and Sat either -- so I love that you are adding 2 resort days.

I'd love to F&G sometime...some of those food booths sound even better than the F&W!

Dinner at CG looks delish -- so sweet of the chef to send out the dessert sampler. YUM!

Love the little baby sink! They had them on the cruise! I still miss them whenever we go into a public restroom -- I have to hold DD up to the sink, and inevitably, we both get wet from the counter! :scared:

Nothing better than an after-dinner swim in the pool - how fun! :goodvibes

Oh, I LOVE California Grill! I haven't been there since the remodel. That is so cool that you met the chef and he sent you those dessert! I love anything with truffles, so your meal sounds great!

Aria's Frozen bathing suit is so cute! It looks like she had a great time at the pool!

Great evening! And love that easy walk back to BLT from MK. :thumbsup2

Glad you had another good meal at California Grill. Aria looks quite happy in that picture (the FB one). I really want to try that martini now - looks good! :drinking1

How cool about meeting the chef! Super nice treat with the desserts too! Aria's looks really fun. What was yours? It looks like there's a drink on it? :confused3

Yay for pool time! That slide looks perfect for a toddler. And I love her little Elsa-style swimsuit - so cute! :lovestruc

Maybe I have a skewed view of F&G since I went with my mom in March 2013 and that was not a fun trip...but yes it will be beautiful to see again.

Love the little sink too. Aria gets so excited when she sees a "Baby Hands" lol. I hate the pick up over the wet counter too, sooo fun...

Speaking of the after dinner pool time, that was actually one reason why having Andrew along in October was a bit disappointing. He was adamant about NOT going to swim after dinner because he didn't feel like he could go after eating a lot. I was like...don't over stuff yourself and you'll be fine?? :faint: IDK he can just be really annoying.

The remodel was subtle IMO - I mean the place looks pretty different but still feels like CG and the menu is very similar and has many of the same dishes. The meal was wonderful and the pool was awesome!

LOL I couldn't really remember what the dessert was. The drink was like a dessert mojito though. Ok I looked it up on the WDW menu and found it -

Seasonal Backyard Barbecue Tasting
Valrhona Chocolate and Smoked Marshmallow S’mores, Strawberry Shortcake with Sweet Cream, and Spiked Cherry-Lime Mojito

Yes the slide was awesome - AKL-Kidani also had a great slide for her. In October, the GFV did not have a slide besides the splash pad area which again had way too much water flowing for her, so that was a little disappointment, but the BCV had an awesome one that made up for it. :goodvibes

The martini is fantastic. That would actually be a really good christmas gift from Andrew...the 3 ingredients to make the martini! I think it is just Crown Royal, Cranberry Juice and Sour Apple pucker. Somehow it just tastes better at Disney though :lovestruc

I love California Grill!! Looks like you had another fabulous meal there!

Being able to walk back to your resort from the MK is awesome. Then to have California Grill right there at your resort- even awesomer!

Did you take the sky bridge thingee that connects BLT to CR? I remember it being a little spooky cause it's so high up and not completely enclosed. Though we did watch the Electric Water Parade from up there one night by accident- that was great!

I spied a Pete on the table at California Grill. He even looks decent sized? Where did you find him? He is DS's favorite & I can't find anything Pete anywhere.

Thanks!

I know, we love it too. It is seriously always fabulous! Yes, BLT/CR definitely have the walking to the MK as a HUGEEEEE plus. I'm thinking of staying there next December again for the whole time.

LOL I don't think it was spooky to me?? We took it a number of times. I like that the doors are automatic at either end, easier for the stroller! Though it heavy rain it would be nice if it was glassed in vs. open.

Hahaa too funny! So here is the link to my purchase on Amazon - http://www.amazon.com/Disney-Mickey...r=8-5&keywords=mickey+mouse+clubhouse+figures

(If the link doesn't come through it is called Mickey Clubhouse Figurine Deluxe BUT let it be known I did NOT spend $55 on these figures lol!! I actually purchased it before Easter to put the figures in her Easter basket & eggs! A few of them made it into her travel toy suitcase. She still plays with them :goodvibes

Maybe check on ebay or something, not sure why Amazon is saying $55 for this, that seems crazy. I checked and I paid $24.

Sorry for my absence! I have been spending too much time planning upcoming trips! Mind if I share the details with you?? (hope not bc I am going to anyway!!) :cool1:

I just added a night to our cruise vacation, we are now heading to Miami on 1/30 - staying 2 nights in an oceanside studio apartment (1/30 is Aria's birthday so we will hopefully have a fun dinner that night once we get there).

Here is the beach the apartment is on:

4a823c0f_original.jpg

1/31 we have the full day to enjoy Miami & the beach and pool. I know there are some activities like an aquarium, but I think we will just relax a bit this day vs planning anything too crazy. I did find a fun restaurant at the Loews resort down the road, so we may check that out.

2/1-2/6 we have the cruise! I get to do online check in & hopefully get our Cozumel excursion squared away on 11/18.

and 2/6-9 we will be in the Keys.

One major thing I have been dealing with is finding a pet/house sitter. Andrew's co-worker is no longer able to do it. So far I have found flakes that can't even keep a meeting time, so not very sure what is going to happen.

Next trip is our May Disney trip. Lynda's BF will be joining us, and I was able to book at the Boardwalk in a studio for the 1st 2 nights May 8-10, then we move to Bonnet Creek (booked too) to a 2 bedroom for 7 nights. Our ADR day is Saturday, so fingers crossed we get everything - we have the biggies on there like BoG, CRT, etc.

After that and I'm sure a busy & fun Summer, we are now 100% booked (hotel-wise anyway) for France! We leave September 3rd (getting in the morning of the 4th) and return home September 22nd! 19 nights away (18 in France!).

The most time has been spent finding places to stay in all 6 of our stops. I don't want some plain old hotels, we love staying in apartments and having the space (esp with Aria) along with washing machines and kitchens, though I don't plan to do much/any cooking. Also due to the size of typical hotel rooms in France, now that we have Aria they are requiring large family suites in most cases - which was getting quite pricey as you can imagine! So I started looking at other options, and found some pretty amazing places!

First stop - Paris for 4 nights!

Yep, this will be our terrace overlooking the Eiffel tower!

The host has been an amazing communicator, already giving me dining recommendations (Paris restaurants are not very kid-friendly) and saying he has a friend who is a chef at a top restaurant who can set up a separate table for us should we wish to dine there.

During our time in Paris, we definitely plan on visiting the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Versailles, and Monet's Gardens - other than that I haven't planned out our specific days.

Then on Tuesday we move to Disneyland Paris! We will have a car, though won't need it at all during this time. We are staying 4 nights at Disney's Hotel New York. it's the 2nd closest hotel to the parks (a 5-10 minute walk) - the Disneyland Hotel is the closest but was also about $800 more, and I just didn't think that the 5 minute walk savings was worth it.

During our time there, we will do the character meals they offer - they have a princess one near the castle similar to CRT but with Princes, and a Mickey & friends one in the Disney Village. Plus they have Chez Remy, which is based off of Ratatoullie - I am not sure if Remy actually meets there but the theming looks amazing.

For height requirements, I believe Aria will be able to ride the 40"'ers by then (that's 2" growth in 10 months, seems doable!) which would include BTMRR, ToT, Star Tours. There will be 5 that she most likely cannot ride - Crush's Coaster, RnRC, RC Racer's, Space, and Indiana Jones (which is a roller coaster, not like DL's IJ).

I had two major reasons for staying on-site 1) Walkability (this was huge) and 2) EMH - one park will open "early" - from 8-10AM each day for on-site guests. Normally they don't open until 10AM! That is way too late to start a day IMO! LOL.

Anyway, moving on - from there we head into Chateau country - the Loire Valley. We are staying 3 nights in a rustic country house.

While there we will visit a bunch of chateaus including Chambord.

Then we head into Burgundy wine country for 2 nights. Here we are staying in the middle of the little town of Beaune in a small apartment but walking distance to restaurants and such. On the full day there, we plan to take a bike tour of wineries with Aria in a bike trailer...should be interesting!

Here is the center of Beaune:

Our next stop is outside of Avignon in Provence for 2 nights. We are staying in a chateau!

There are only 5 rooms and it is run as a B&B.

We are staying in the "Red Room"

During this time we will explore the Provence countryside and probably spend an afternoon in Avignon.

Our final stop of our Tour de France is Nice. On the drive there, we'll stop in Arles which has the biggest Roman Ruins outside of Italy!

Here we will stay for 3 nights in a private villa outside the hustle of downtown Nice, but with quite the view.

This villa was actually Andrew's choice. My choice was a villa in the little village of Eze, but it required a 5-10 minute walk from the car because it was in the middle of a nature reserve...lol! But this will be a very very nice way to end our time in France.

While in the area, we will visit downtown Nice probably for a half-day, and the other day we will drive along the coast and have lunch in Eze.

Lastly, for 2015, I plan to spend December 7-13 in a studio at BLT with Aria. I've asked my points guy for that but he can't make those reservations until January, but I'm not worried since it will be 11 months out.

So anyway, thanks for letting me share all these plans with you! Between that and a thousand new projects at work, it's been pretty crazy! Oh and we have already started decorating for Christmas, got our holiday party invitations out, asked Santa to come to it :santa: and already wrapped all of Aria's presents and I finished up Andrew's gifts as well! Totally 100% ready for December to get here! haha

That's all for now! I've been working on some updates but the photos are not working via Facebook, so hopefully I'll get it up soon.

Wow, the places you are staying in France look AMAZING!!! That is going to be quite a trip! I really need to figure out if we are going to DLP in March. I thought we were all set, but now the flight has gone up over $300. We're also hoping to have a baby next year and I'm trying to decide if we should be saving our money/vacation days instead.

wow, your locations in France look amazing! Good job finding those.

Do you know how the wineries in France are with brining kids? I always get nervous when we bring the kids to wineries that they will bug other people and the wine owners won't be happy. More just a question from someone very much clueless :rotfl2:
