my ? about upgrades

When I get to the check-in counter,do I wait to see if I'm offered a free upgrade(I know I read here somewhere people getting upgraded rooms at AKL and other resorts). Or, am I suppose to ask for an upgrade? Also,we have AP vouchers. If I find out there are discounts,do I call the resort to see if my booked standard room is available at the discount ?

You can ask about an upgrade. I usually ask this way: is there an upgrade available and how much would it cost? If the CM offers it for free, then you get some Disney magic. If not, you can decide if you really want the upgrade.

If you booked a standard room, chances are that is what you will get.

If you want savannah view, you need to book it before you go on your trip. If you wait until check-in there may be nothing available.
