My 7 Month Vacation as a WDW Intern: MINI UPDATE 12/10

thanks for the advice!! I have to run to the post office so I'll stop at walmart on my way home and pick up those items. Do you think I'd be safe going to TL tomorrow and just lay by the wave pool?? I have my annual pass that I don't want to go to waste so I'm thinking maybe that would be a nice relaxing idea for tomorrow...

Sorry to hear about the roomie drama already. Some people are just never happy. Its a rough situation though trying to get everyone to mesh and get along. I hope that works out. As far as the PI, that sounds like its going really well for you. You'll be a pro by the time we visit!

The rash sounds nasty...btdt...as others have said, Calamine and Benadryl work wonders. :goodvibes

I get that rash almost everytime we go to WDW. I think it has something to do with the heat and doing alot more walking than I normally do. It will go away on it's own but I know what you mean about the embarassment of the way it looks. But I would not waste your money going to the dr. I can't wait to try the benadryl and calamine the next time to see if it works.

I must have missed something in catching up on your posts all at one time. What is SUE? And I don't understand about the letter rotations. Can you explain? Is what you do is just stand around at the places and give the talks about the animals and answer guests questions? I enjoy those people as they are always so friendly and knowledgeable. Don't be too hard on yourself
we as guest don't know what you are supposed to say and you know more than we know!

Yes it would be OK to go to TL. The water won't affect it and it is not contagious. Be sure to use sunscreen! You can get burned really fast!

thanks!!! I did get the lotion at walmart so I'm going to try that and stay out of the heat for the day. I'm tryin to find someone to maybe go see a movie with tonight or maybe mini golfing when the sun sets.

Sorry for the letter confusion. Sue is the t-rex replica of the largest and most complete t-rex ever found. The real one is at the field museum in chicago. The Sue is right before Dinosaur ride.

The letters are our rotations for the day. Each morning we are given a letter and we look at our grid of rotation as to where we will go and what time we go and leave. Some days I'll be at aKDC and then I'll be at different ones the next day. Our rotation is based on 12-15 people so that we can get breaks and bumps quick enough :)

I hope that makes sense now!! I'm going to go lotion-up and maybe bake some brownies!!!!

Hey Dis!!

Sorry for the long updated post but I want some opinions and advice.

Like I said, Amanda is coming in 14 days and we're stayin 3 nights at POP with the DDP.

I already booked LTT for the Sunday before she leaves but now we need 2 other places to eat. We're only going to a park on Sun, a waterpark/DTD, and the other day will depend on if I can switch to have that day off but for right now thats the plan

We were thinking maybe 1 resort and 1 DTD restaurant.

My top resorts are: (in no order)

Kona,
Ohanas (been there twice this year already and had really bad service both times so I'm worried)
WCC (I'm going there tomorrow for dinner but LOVE it!!)
Cape May Cafe
Maya Grill
GF Cafe

I would if possible I would like to order off a menu but I'm trying new things lol

Top DTD are:

Fultons
Cap n' Jacks
RFC (have eaten there 3x this year already)

Some feedback would be great. She has never done DDP so I don't want to do a 2credit meal esp since I'm always done with work at 5:15 if I would have to work...

TIA!!!!

Thanks for helping me to understand the lingo! I love knowing the behind the scenes stuff. I wanted to do the behind the scenes tour when I had my annual pass but never could afford it.

I know you are making memories that you will be glad to have when you embark on your permanent or semi permanent career. It is neat that you are seizing the opportunities while you can. What is the difference in being a PI and a regular employee? Is it that you get paid but no benefits?

We loved WCC when we were there in April.
Is there a new/remodeled restaurant at CSR now?
We have only been to Planet Hollywood, RFC and Wolfgang Puck's Express at DTD so I'm not too much help with those restaurants.

I did not really like my experience at O'hanas either. I felt unimportant.
I have been to spoodles at the BW and the food there is really good.

Raglan Road is also a lot of fun at DTD

I vote for Kona and Fultons, although Kona and WCC sounds good too. ;)

Sorry to hear about the problems with your roomate. Sounds like someone needs to grow up a bit. How about Le'Cellier. Hmm love that place. Gotta love that DDP, to bad I hear that price is going up next year making it not worth it for us. Have fun with your friend.

I would vote for LeCellier and 1900 Park Fare. We have done these a couple times and really enjoyed them. 50's Prime Time is also a lot of fun. Maybe she would enjoy that??

I enjoyed your update very much. I hope everything works out with the apartment for you. :thumbsup2

Have a good night.

Melissa :goodvibes

I vote Capt Jacks because I have always wanted to go there and never got around to it!

Thank you, thank you, thank, you, Megan for the wonderful insights into the incredible experience of being a CM. I just love the updates and really look forward to hearing about all the ins and outs!:)

As far as outside the park dining experiences, I would have to agree with the Whispering Canyon, Cape May Cafe, and Raglan Road suggestions. Have you considered Boma, as well? We really enjoyed that, and even if Amanda is not the adventurous type with food, she should be able to find something that's tempting. Just repeat after me- Zebra Domes!:)

I hope that when my family and I are at AK during the week of 7/18-7/26 (probably 7/21 and 7/23), our paths might cross with yours! We'd love to wish you all the best in person!:cheer2:

Love,
Mimi

I vote for Boma or 1900 Park Fair for the resort

and

Raglan Road or Fultons for the DTD.

RFC is not on the DDP, at least I don't think it is. I didn't think Fulton's was either. That will limit your DTD choices. :(

I was just going to say that Rain forest is not on DPP (at least it was not in 2007 when we were there but we ate there twice because we liked it soo much) Raglan Road is good. I think the only other meals we ate outside of the parks was at ESPN zone (but standard bar food) and Big River Grill and Brewing company which was good but we were there for an early dinner which it was not even busy yet, which I have heard that if they are busy then they may not be soo good...neither one of these places on the boardwalk take adr's...first come first serve I believe.
