Well folks after being MIA for weeks I’m back.......work has been a total nightmare, so so busy and my social life just got in the way of me being on the DIS at all really
hahaha!
Anyways I’m back now and will post a brief summary and some party pics as promised just to finish off this thread.

BTW thanks for all of your kind birthday wishes, meant a lot!

The day of the party started with a tingle of excitement plus a very strong cup of coffee after the few refreshments of the night before!

Cutting a long story very short DH & DS went and decorated the hall with my sis, b-in-law, niece and best friend.
My oldest niece / goddaughter came and cut and coloured my hair. Dinner was courtesy of the local chippy, classy stuff! DS ‘friend’ arrived and we started getting ready. We had a couple of drinky poos before we left the house then the taxi arrived.

I was blown away with how well they’d all decorated the place, balloons, banners, hundreds of photos, poems, sprinkly stuff and poppers it looked fab!
People had started arriving and everyone looked great!

We danced the night away to some great music as well as the usual cheesy party songs, it was a right laugh.

We cut my beautiful cake [didn’t want that to happen lol] and then it was the buffet....it was A – maz - ing.....we had bacon baps, sausage baps, sausage rolls, chicken satay skewers, sandwiches with lots of different fillings, spring rolls and pakora; everyting was beautifully cooked and everyone seemed to enjoy it! Wow wish I had some of that right now!

All too soon it was time to finish up and go home ; well not everyone was ready for the night to end and we all headed back to ours and had another few wee drinkys before finally calling it a night around 2am. Bonus though I'd no hangover on the Sunday, think we all must have drank ourselves sober lol!

I was amazed at the presents I got .....people were so kind, still trying to finish off my thank you letters but as I say I have been busy whoops!

Two weekends later I went off for my girly weekend [another reason everything is behind!]
FABULOUS
I can’t remember the last time I laughed so much.
We had a disco karaoke night on the Friday, watched Dirty Dancing and Mamma Mia with crisps dips and a lovely bottle of wine in the afternoon and a dinner dance on the Saturday evening [the band was top notch too], a pub lunch and a sunbathing day / barbeque tea on the Sunday and ice cream treats on the way home on the Monday.......what more could a girl ask for when she turns 40!

I'll post few pics now and finish it off tomorrow got to go get my DS from youth theatre!!!

Thanks guys, we all had a great time at the party and the weekend away was brill! But I forgot to take the battery for the camera so no girly weekend pics to bribe anyone with Turning 40 has fried my brain I think
