During the summer, I found my elementary school's webpage online. I decided to try my luck and sent them an email saying I'm an alumni from 1985-86 till 91 and would love to hear from any of my old teachers. About 3 or 4 of my old teachers are still there. Anyway, last night, I got an email entitled "Roosevelt School." It was from my 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Beaumaster! Neato! I haven't spoken to her in at least a decade! She didn't say much- just that she was still at the school and that it was recently renovated, and she asked what I was up to these days. But how cool to hear from her!

My kids go to the same school that my DH and I did, elementary, middle, and high. They are always horrified to get a teacher we had. This year, at my DD's first day of High School, my and DH's favorite teacher saw her surname, and instead of calling her name out for roll call, stood up, approached her desk and leaned over, looking her in the eye and said, very quietly, "Whos' your dad?" and when she told him, he laughed right out loud, spoke about how old it makes him feel, and singles her out now quite often. But she's got a terrific sence of humor, and now comes in with different name tages every week. :p
