How do I get this all up out of my carpet???????? I was on the phone, he's playing quietly near his rocking zebra toy....I turn around, finish my call, turn back around to thank him for playing so nicely.....he's POURING MRS. BUTTERWORTH EVERYWHERE!!!!!

I'm sorry, I'm no help for you, but I am now giggling helplessly.

Good luck!!

Go get a carpet and/or steam cleaner.

In the meantime, get some wet towels (hot as you can stand it) to put on the syrup so that it does not harden.

I'm so sorry.

2disneywego....I didn't know whether to hate you or giggle with you:p

(But on my way to get the towels I did grab my camera.....it was either that and laugh about it or scream.....)

I am blotting it up with damp towels. It seems to be coming up pretty easily but do you think it will stain? Wouldn't you know this is the weekend my inlaws are coming for our oldest son's baptism??????

I don't have any advice about the syrup, but how about this instead.
About 9 years ago my dd poured nail polish on my bedroom carpet.

I had a problem a while back when DS got into the Desitin. Most of it ended up in his hair, but a lot was on his clothes, bed & rug too. I came to the Dis for advice and someone suggested using Goo Gone. It worked like a charm(or as good as can be expected). I dont know how well that will work on syrup, but its worth a shot. Its usually pretty good on most stuff.
And sorry, but Im laughing too. I know just how you feel. YUK!

Hey, Camcolt, I also have a spot of Desitin....that is now covered with a rug!!! How kind of you to share that experience with me!

Now would you all stop laughing and get down here and help me blot!!!!!

nkjzmom. I'll help blot, but I can't stop giggling.:p

But, I would take syrup over what my 2 yr old nephew did to me. In the space of 1 minute he managed to empty his diaper and pack it into the bottoms of his Fisher Price "Little People".
I just threw them out.;)

I'm sorry nkjzmom, but I'm kind of laughing too. I had to read this twice. At first I thought it said your 2 yr. old spelled syrup, and I was thinking, that's pretty good!! :) ;)

Mrs. B really gets around.

Oh my gosh, I remember those days....don't miss that part. Good luck getting the syrup out of the carpet!

Alright. It's just a faint shadow on the carpet now. I'll be borrowing my grandpa's cleaner and working on it later tonight! Thank you all for the good advice AND for helping me keep my sense of humor!!!

You all are awesome!!

Has anyone tried Oxyclean????

LOL! Sorrry about the syrup, but this reminds me of the time my 4 yr. old twins cracked a dozen eggs on the carpet! Talk about a mess!

EGGS!?!?! Oh, no! At least the syrup leaves a sweet smell!!!

Eggs, pancakes, syrup.....anyone want to throw any bacon/sausage in???? How about some orange juice!!

You just needed to borrow my dog. She'd have made short work of that syrup. Wait . . then she'd probably be sick and that's another spot. Not a good idea. :teeth:
