My 1st PTR/TR: An unexpected trip, Disney in December 4 *Day 3 6/5 Illuminations!*

Wow, the Beach Club is so pretty with all of its Christmas decorations, I love the Black Pearl! That was quite amazing! Their tree may have inspired me... purple, blue, sea treasures... love it!
Now I know why I like the Boardwalk! You hit it right! It does look like OC Mayland! It feels so familiar when we are there. :goodvibes The atmosphere reminds me a bit of the boardwalk at OC, lots of activities and food, especially at night.
I wandered into that art store too and fell in love with the art work. There was a glass frog in the front window that had its leg extending way down that was so awesome! And expensive!! :scared1: Did you go into the general store?

I love Wyland!! I have seen two of his big murals, one in Portsmouth, NH and the other one in Portland, ME. They are absolutely amazing. Sadly, the one in Portsmouth wasn't taken care of properly by the city and they had to restore it somewhat. My brother used to collect baseball cards and at the shop he went too, they had Wyland cards too so I used to collect those. I wish I still had them, I wonder if they were mixed in with all of my brother's baseball cards, I'll have to check that out.

Okay. Hijack over! :rotfl2:

:thumbsup2 So I've been reading your ENTIRE PTR and TR for the past couple of days at work (shhh!) and I love them!!! You and your DBF are so cute. How awesome that you go every year for Christmas? My DH and I want to go for Christmas sometime. Maybe in a few years--we have so many vacations we want to take! I love all the pictures and your cute commentaries. :)

PS if you email me your pics of the castle with people in front of it, I'll photoshop it for you. I'm a graphic designer, so it'll make it appear like I'm actually doing "work" instead of DIS-ing. ::yes:: My email is stacikristine@gmail.com if you're interested.

Again, I LOVE your PTR and TR! :thumbsup2

I think it inspried me too!! And I completely forgot about my fellow Ocean City Marylander! Shame on me!! :flower3: I'm glad I could convey some OC memories for you too! And that's SO cool you saw Wyland's Gallery, if only I could afford some of those pieces. Sadly no, we didn't see the general store, was it really awesome?

haha, you can hijack anytime LL! You should check those baseball cards out and see if you can find them! That would be cool!

Hi!! :welcome: Oh you will LOVE it at Christmas time, it's SO amazing. Dbf and I even think that Christmas reminds us of Disney now and the trees and decorations are so incredibly beautiful!
I'll keep your secret though, I certainly do my fair share of "working" while I'm at work too :rotfl2: And that is incredibly sweet of you!!! I'm such a slacker and haven't downloaded our 2nd day from MK yet, but when I get there, I may have to take you up on your offer ::yes:: :goodvibes

Saw your link in another TR...looks like we were there at the same time in December! Totally gonna check out your trippie and see if I can spot us. :rotfl2:

Hi! :wave2: I'm pretty sure I read your Waiter TR back before I learned how to do the basic DISing :rotfl: I'll have to go back and read it again! You worked on a set with Dawson's Creek too I think? Anyway, welcome! I haven't posted any photopass pictures yet, so maybe you could be in there too! :thumbsup2

Hi guys! Just dropping in to say a quick hi! I got so inspired by posting the Boardwalk resort pics, that I looked online at the Ocean City deals and found a GREAT one.
$189 includes: 2 nights stay on 9th street, ocean view on the boardwalk, rose petals, chocolates, a bottle of chilled champagne and souvenier glasses, a $20 gas gift card and a $40 dinner voucher to most of the restaurants! WHO can beat that! :dance3:
Since my birthday was last saturday and I told Dbf to save his money and we'll just combine it with Valentine's day, I'll help out and we can take a weekend off!
I'll update after the weekend, but hope everyone has a great one!

Yep...that was me. Sidney worked on DC...the rest of us did OTH. We're going back in March. I hope the weather is as nice as it was in December. I couldn't believe how nice it was the whole time. Do you remember what parks you were in on certain dates?

that sounds like alot of fun, cant wait to hear about it and see pics.

OK Jess, I KNOW I started your TR back when it was still a PTR but how I never kept up I don't know. All you had to do was say those 3 little words on the gnome thread the other day (No Way Jose) to pull me back.

thanks for doing that because I am loving your trip and can't wait for more!

That's so awesome, although DC is still my favorite! We've gone in April before but not March, so hopefully the weather will be nice for you! Let me see...we went Monday December 15th to Saturday December 20th. So the 15th we were in MK, 16th was AK, 17th was Epcot, 18th was HS and 19th was MK. I STILL have to post my photopass pics, so hopefully we can spot you! :thumbsup2

Thanks! I'm certainly getting behind on my TR, although I'm LOVING all the pics of Parker :goodvibes

:rotfl: That No Way Jose looked SO good, the lady we got a picture of that got one barely even made a dent in it! Thanks for stopping by, I certainly need to pick up my pace! ;)

GAH! Ok, I was ready to save my newest entry and of course the computer freezes again and I lose it.
Bear with me, I'm going to try and redo it here.

Wow, it’s been a while since I updated. I’ve been SO busy with my thesis stuff and yesterday I scheduled Riley’s surgery to have her plate taken out of her leg that she broke last May. Thankfully my tax refund came back and I’m getting about $685, so I can use that to cover her surgery (which will be between $500 and $600). Unfortunately that money won’t be going into our Disney fund this year. At least I know the Marcettes trip is still over a year away and Dbf and I are pretty quick about saving money up when we want something, but we will be buying a house this year…
Anyway, without any other delay.
When we last left off, we had just eaten at Beaches and Cream for lunch, toured the Beach Club and Boardwalk and walked through the Wyland gallery. Now, it was starting to get close to 2pm and we wanted to head back into Epcot. As we were leaving, we took one last picture of the scenery as we entered WS.

First stop? Test track! We had already rode the single rider line a few times, but I had some fast passes burning a hole in my pocket!

My grandfather is a former GM employee, so I have to take pictures of the ride vehicle each year. He still loves all that stuff. I have a necklace that I really love where back in the 80’s (he made one for my mom, my aunt, me and my cousin) where most things weren’t supervised and he took all the old leftover paint chips (you know how sand art is? How is starts with one color and you can make that color really thin and you just keep layering the different colors?) and made them into a heart shape and then polished it down. So awesome and one of my favs. Anyway, we took a picture of the vehicle and then a traditional self picture while on the ride.

Now I was having a bad hair day as it was, the least Dbf could have done was tell me that my hair was sticking out from underneath. Men…so I apologize in advance for the messy hair.

Next, we headed over to the Land.

Dbf wanted to try out Soarin this year, but I chickened out again and there weren’t any fastpasses left. I told him that I would go do something else or wait for him, but the wait time was 50 minutes and he said it was ok, we’d get it next time. I know he was disappointed, but we still had a lot of things we wanted to do. So, we headed in the other direction.

Last year we had watched the Lion King show but decided to skip it and go straight for Living with the Land. Dbf had to say hello to Pumbaa first though, the Lion King is his ultimate favorite!

Continued onto next post.

I am still amazed at how “green” Disney is. I love all the plants inside the greenhouse and Dbf and I are big aquaculture fans (his major is Fisheries Science so it’s right up his alley) so of course I had to take a few pictures
