My 1st Pre-Trip Report! Going in August!! LOTS of Pics included!! Updated 07-28-08!!

Part 6

Well cancelled Cape May Cafe and just now gonna do Boma for our anniversary breakfast. I really dont wanna have to waste valuable Epcot time eating breakfast at Cape May Cafe. So we will try CMC next trip.

Well on Thursday, May 29th, I called Disney Dining and made 1 more ADR. I decided to take back LTT. To my suprise I was able to grab the same date and time I originally had!

Then last Sunday, June 1st, I got on the phone at 7:30am and called Disney Tours. I decided to book the backstage safari after doing a lot of research on it and reading reviews! I had to think long and hard on weither or not to do this tour. But decided to go ahead and do it. I was able to grab the date and time I wanted as well. August 8th at 8:30am. This will be our VERY 1st tour. It's also DH's Anniversary present from me. Our anniversary is August 7th, so he will get it 1 day late, but it'll do! Man, with the diver and menu at coral reef on our anniversary, plus a surprise anniversary cake being delivered to our room after checkin and NOW PLUS the backstage safari, its so hard to keep everything a secret from him, but Im sure I can manage! He's gonna be SO blown away with everything. This is in NO doubt gonna be the BEST anniversary we've EVER had! All I can say, whatever he plans on getting for me - after everything I am setting up for him - it better be GOOD!

Thank God I have the DISboards and you the DISers to spill my guts to and thank God DH doesnt read the boards! I seriously dont think I could handle keeping all this info bottled up inside without telling someone!

Also as predicted by myself and of course as very well known factor here on the DISboards, AirTran changed our flight info to and from Disney. We are now leaving 10 minutes earlier from BWI and leaving 30 minutes later from Orlando coming back home. So we will now arrive in Orlando at 10am. I figured by the time we get off the plane, get our luggage, meet the driver (limo) and get to AKL, it will probably be between 11 and 11:30am. Once we check in, we will eat some lunch at the Mara. And then depending on weither or not our room is ready or not will determin what we do. If its not ready then we will go to DTD for a couple hrs before our ADR for Boma at 5pm. If it is ready, then we will just go to our room and relax and just stare at the animals from our balcony until its time for dinner!

Only 63 more days to go before we head off to Disney!!

Part 7

Well some final touches are coming into play as of this morning. I forgot to mention this earlier, but I started a photopass share a few weeks ago and so far its going really smoothly. Myself included theres 10 people who are signed up, making my cost for the photopass only $10 opposed to $100! It didnt take long for the photopass share to fill up. Infact just last night I had to start a stand-by list for those who wanting to join but couldnt make the list. Im still waiting on 4 more payments and if I dont receive those payments then those people will be removed and the people on the stand-by list will be put on in their place.

Starting the photopass share brings me to another story. A DISer (Nicole786) PMed asking me if I was gonna start a stand-by list. After exchanging a couple PMs I realized that she to will be staying at AKL during my dates. So we PMed each other back and forth and I suggested why dont I try to see if I could change my ADR for Crystal Palace for an earlier time that way we could meet and eat together and take each other pics. Her time was 8:10am and mine was 8:25am same day, Aug 6th. Well, I tell you what. I must be 1 lucky person when it comes to making ADRs because I called Disney dining at 7am on the dot and got exactly what I wanted. I cancelled my original ADR and made a new one for Aug 6th 8:10am for a party of 4. It will be me, my DH (Steve), Nicole and her brother David. So my 1st DISmeet! Im very excited about this and cant wait.

I can feel that this is gonna be a great trip and we're gonna be very sad to go back home. But theres always the next trip! And you can bet the moment I get home from this trip coming up, I will begin to plan the next trip!

Part 8

Boy do I have a story tell you! Remember in Part 7 I explained how I was gonna have my 1st DISmeet, well while that will still happen, the breakfast porition may not happen.

Yesterday I got some upsetting news. Nicole's brother David is having a hard time with the fact that we wanna just share a table. He's OK with meeting at the bus stop of AKL, going to MK together and taking each other pics on main street but the moment he heard eating together at the same table, he started having doubts. Nicole, went on and asked him if we got seperate tables by each other whats the difference then sharing a table? Why, who really knows. I just know that he has fears about situations he doesn't really know how the final outcome is gonna be. He claim's he's OK with it, but Nicole knows and told me he really isn't.

Sooooo which brings to our most recent conversation last night on AIM. I told her that I was gonna call Disney Dining today and just make the change to 2 people instead of 4. But then I got to thinking this morning. It would be a huge shame to make the change only to find out that David does relax and he wished we had kept our original plan of sharing a table.

So I went on and PMed Nicole this morning and told her that Im not gonna call dining to make the change. Instead the plan is, we will meet up at the bus stop of AKL, get to MK, take each other pics, and right before we go to crystal palace to checkin, Im gonna ask everyone would they rather sit together or seperate tables. If they decide seperate tables, then Nicole and I will then checkin and explain to the person at the podium that they have their own ADR and they decided at the last minute that they were gonna sit at a different table but ask them to sit us by each other. I already know and have a funny feeling they are gonna look at us weird and ask us what the difference between having 1 table or 2 tables next to each other?

Now I dont know how crystal palace is layed out since I've never been there before. But if its like any many other TS places in Disney, the tables that sit 2 people are directly right next to each other. So close that it does feel like 1 table instead of 2. I really dont see the difference between having 1 table or having 2 sepearate tables. The only difference I could really see is if they were a few tables away from us.

We think he's scared or nervous about meeting new people and dont like eating around people he doesn't know.

I told her to tell him to think of it like the 1st day of school. You're at lunch and trying to find a place to sit. You then proceed to sit down and eat with people you dont really know or dont know at all. I've done it as Im sure everyone here on the boards have done it.

I also told her in my latest PM another scenerio to think of it. Imagine going on a ride you've never been on before. Your scared and nervous in line. You get on the ride and your shaking like a leaf. Half way through the ride you realize hey this fun, this cool, this is awesome. And then the ride comes to an end and you get off only to run back to the line and get right back on. Been there and have done that!

Since we all are staying at AKL, Im hoping on the 5th we can meet up with them sometime during the day so that we can meet then. That way David can relax and realize that DH and I are good and nice people. We all have 2 things in common. Disney and video games. And who knows maybe many more things in common. If we cant find something to talk about, theres something wrong!

I just hope David comes through and we can continue on with our original plan. The whole point of a DISmeet is to meet others and enjoy ourselves. I def. dont wanna be around anyone who isnt enjoying themselves or feel out of place. It would be to awkward. Like the old saying - It only takes 1 bad apple to spoil the bunch. I dont wanna force David or anyone into something they dont wanna do. So if it comes down to he just cant seem to get comfy with our meet then we'll just be off on our seperate ways once we get to crystal palace.

The day we do CP will be DH and I first full day in Disney and at the parks. And I hope the final outcome of that day is that we made new friends, we had a great DISmeet, and we all created lasting long memories.

Well this morning I made up a letter to give to Steve at Coral Reef during dinner on our anniversary. This letter describes what his anniversary present is from me. Please read it and let me know what you think. If you have any suggestions on making it better, do NOT hesitate to provide those ideas! The words in BOLD are gonna be in the walt disney script font. The rest is just gonna be in the Arial font.

Just wanna say thanks to all those who read have read and liked my pre-trip report so far. I do have a small update. I recently made an additional ADR for an additional Boma breakfast for Aug 8th at 7:35am. I was on the food porn thread and someone posted really good looking Boma breakfast pics, that I couldnt resist! Next thing I know, about 30 minutes later, I was on the phone with Disney dinning and making another ADR for Boma! Right now Im trying to decide if I want to keep Donalds and Princess Storybook (both for breakfast). Especially Princess Storybook. I really dont wanna pay $70 for this meal, but then again, I want to be able to see the princesses and get great WS pics. So who knows what Im gonna do at this point. But I will be sure to keep you all posted

You guys will probably be leaving about the time we're arriving. Maybe we'll get to meet. Wouldn't that be fun.

Check out the thread Team Focker Watch Chat, I believe it is on the Community Boards! Anyway a bunch of them are going in August and I'm pretty sure the Fest is late August! Not sure what they are doing exactly, I won't be there in person But I will be there as Flat Rosie!!

I'm so glad you posted again on the "Jambo Lite" AKL thread - I had your PTR open once on my computer, but closed it on accident and never got to read it! I just read through everything-your plans look awesome!!! Lots of good eats and lots of "Magic Makers" (little extras).

I did the EXACT same thing for our trip in November! Those Boma breakfast pics were UNBELIVABLE. I showed DH and he asked "What day are we going there?" and that was my cue...
