This is more of a strategy item in my mind than a restaurant question so I'm posting it here. For those who have been to MVMCP what time do you typically arrive to the party, and then what time and where do you eat? Do some QS places close for the party because they are either serving free treats or hosting a dance party?

It really depends if you want to meet characters or not. If you want to meet characters, ignore my advice, LOL! We have no interest in meeting characters and we find eating around 5:30 pm works well for us. We typically do a TS and then we are out a little before the party starts. We've entered as late as 4 pm (when they allow you in without a day ticket), but we've also entered earlier (on days we use a regular ticket plus our party ticket). Even if you want to eat QS, I would do it before the party. I just think doing anything other than riding rides and doing the special party stuff is a waste of party time!

We arrive around 3:30 so that we can get in at 4. We usually go on a ride or two, then grab a quick dinner sometime between 5 and 6. Most QS are closed for dinner during the party. I actually can't think of any that I've ever seen open during the party, but maybe I just wasn't looking hard enough?

We ate a late lunch at our resort and entered the park right at 4pm. We had Casey's while we waited for the parade and fireworks.

Do you remember how late Casey's stayed open? That's typically our "go-to" for QS dinner at MK.

We are staying off site and planning on having a late lunch and filling up on a variety of Xmas cookies at the party:dogdance:

We like to eat a TS meal in the park sometime between 4:00 & 5:00. We generally enter for the party around 3:45-4:00 with our party tickets, but have also entered a little earlier with our park hoppers after spending the morning at another park.

We have done a quick meal at Columbia Harbor House and an early BOG dinner. We also once ate an early dinner at the Wave and got to the park around six. We don't wait in any of the most popular character lines and we usually have already spent the day at MK, so we don't mind taking the time to sit and eat.

I would eat before going to the park. This serves two purposes. You get more park time for rides and such. Secondly, your stomach would be more settled before going on any roller coasters.

This is a new party for us but we're going to eat at ESPN before we head to the park. ADR is for 3 so I figure we'll get to MK around 5. At this point we don't think we are going to line up for the most popular characters, though we haven't thought about that yet (focusing on getting our FPs in order first!)

We've done Casey's during the party before. Usually I get our spot for the parade or wishes and DD27 goes to get us food to eat while waiting. Works great for us. Others times we've gone to Cosmic Rays Starlight Cafe to rest while eating a burger. We get a spot either outside if the weather is good or inside by the window so we can see the castle with the beautiful dream lights all lit up. It's worth it to us to take a half hour and have a little rest and quiet while getting a bite to eat and sitting so we can enjoy our favorite the beautiful castle with the castle dream lights!

I think Columbia Harbor house closes much earlier than Cosmic Rays and Casey's, maybe like 8 p.m., (possibly 9, at the latest). It's also been a cookie and hot chocolate spot every year.

We also eat beforehand. And snack our way through the party.

A free cookie here, a cupcake there, and a pretty serious sugar high to keep us going!

Since I have an AP, I usually go to the park early enough to get in three FP before the party, then have a large, late lunch, then party. If for some reason I'm just going to the party (sometimes I'll do it after work), I just sort of graze instead of having a full sit down meal somewhere. I don't use party time to have a TS meal. Those tickets are too expensive!

We plan on do8ing the bacon fest breakfast at Shades of Green and then have a 3:20 ressie at Plaza. That should tide us over during the party except maybe a Nutella waffle and toll house ice cream sandwich from Sleep Hollow during the party.

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but I thought only the ice cream waffles were offered during the party. I thought both the Nutella and chicken ones ended at 5 pm. But I could be wrong!
