MVMCP when to purchase tickets?

For the first time, we are planning to go the Christmas party. Our night is December 2nd, which is a DVC discount night, and a Tuesday.

When should I buy the tickets? It rarely rains in December, but I'd hate to spend the $, and get rained out. And if that night sells-out, my kids will be so disappointed.

The only time I bought tickets before arrival, it poured rain, part of the parade was pulled out, including all the horses, and toy soldiers. It rained so much the fireworks caused fog and you could not even see them. Stage shows were cancelled. It was cold and damp the entire night.

I will never buy in advance again. Many were given tickets for another night but we could not work that into our schedule so basically we wasted our money.

It was during the first week of Dec. I will take my chances on getting them after I arrive and checking the local weather closer to the event.

After once having a MVMCP in the rain (in Dec) I also stopped buying party tickets in advance. I now wait for the weather reports.
