Good news - early weather is predicting rain for only one night while we are in WDW.

Bad News - it's our MVMCP night...yuck. How does WDW handle this? What will we be missing out on?

Thanks for the info!

You must be going on Dec 13th? So are we and I too was wondering what will be going on if it's raining.

Hey! a few days ago rain was being predicted for Dec 10th (night of our Illuminations cruise), but it has since been taken out of the forecast and is now supposed to be sunny. Maybe we'll get lucky and the forecast will change again!

Yes, let's keep movin' that rain out! Our party night is the 11th!

My DH and I went to MVMCP 3 years ago in the POURING rain. We put on our ponchos and did EVERYTHING! Yes, we were soaked by the end of the night, but we got to do all the rides, I don't believe any were closed due to just rain, if there had been thunder or lightning in the area, I'm sure that would have been different. Needless to say, we had a blast, and we have the funniest picture from the night, the two of us in our yellow ponchos with those bucket-style rain hats on.
I don't know if the parades were cancelled, I'm going to go out on a limb and guess they were, the weather really was pretty bad.
BUT as we were leaving the park, a nice CM with a clipboard stopped us and asked us if we had had a nice time. We said we did, despite the weather, and she smiled and handed us a square business card with an address on it. She said to send our tickets from the party to that address and we would be "compensated." I didn't know if they were refunding money or what, but about two weeks later, we received two one-day park hoppers in the mail with a note that said something like "Glad you had a great time, now enjoy a SUNNY time on us!"
It was a little bit of pixie dust and very unnecessary and unexpected!

How wonderful and what a great attitude. We are the same way. Rain or shine, cold or hot we are just happy to be there and not at work or school. Not sure about the parades but they will cancel the fireworks because of rain. Typically it rains this time of the year because of cold fronts so if its predicting rain make sure you keep an eye on the expected temps too. An example is December 5, 78 with rain and Tuesday will be a high of 68. Not cold to some but for us Floridians its cold below 73. lol

We just returned from our wonderful trip at the Poly, We went to mvmcp Tues.(a little worried since the weather was predicting showers all day and night. Well at about 1pm the rain stopped and my son and grandchildren used the pool, at 3:30 we hopped the monorail to MK and the sky became a beautiful blue 68 degree late afternoon. The waether remained great for the remainder of our stay. I would not worry about a little rain. As long as its not a torrential downpour it wont even change a thing....

We did MVMCP in 2000 in the pouring rain. Our free photo is quite lovely, really. Three drowned rats. Or maybe three drowned mice. It literally poured the entire night.

It kept the hot chocolate from being too strong and too hot. The snow fall on Main Street was a bit slippery, though.

When I was there a couple years back I waited to get down there to get my tickets to see what the weather will be like. Good thing I did. On of the parties it rained and had lighting and the party was cancelled.
