As per TammiMcMan's advice, I'm want to start an "MVMCP Touring Tips and Plans" thread.

Kindly list all the tips you have with regards to the MVMCP itself, and please... no more mention about dining at LTT and merchandises.

I'd like to know things such as:

1. Where to get the piccies taken
2. How many piccies will they take (say in a family of 4 with 4 MVMCP tickets)
3. How many piccies will be printed
4. Where to get the hot chocky, is it refillable, available from what time to what time, etc.
5. Areas CLOSED during MVMCP
6. MVMCP 2004 schedules (for parades and such)
7. When and where will it "snow", and for how long
8. Other possible tips to make the experience more enjoyable.

TIA

This is a great idea. What I'd like to add is for people to post descriptions of the shows and approximate legnth of them. I can read last years program, but have no idea what my family would enjoy and how long to plan. Thanks for starting this thread. I hope we get the replies we need.

Ahhhh .. something I would like to have info on as well. Good thinking FatCow!

I'd like to hear more about the shows as well. My kids are 5 and almost 9 so I only want to hit the ones that will hold thier interest.

having gone one a couple years back and going twice a month from now, here's my thoughts:

1. everyone says watch the second parade and its true!
2. the pass gets you in starting at 4 pm, so rest up in the afternoon and then max out your time.
3. the cookies and hot choc. are nice but don't kill yourself worrying about finding them (it will be listed on the map) we got them w. no problem from the plaza terrace place. (which is also a good place to stake out for the fireworks)
4. save fantasyland rides for either first thing or late at night.
5. use the tomorrowland time to your advantage (I would focus on multiple rides for space and buzz than SAE, which takes longer and can be done w. a fastpass.
6. get pics done in tomorrowland during this period as well.
7. don't waste time seeing the country bear xmas show-its open during regular hours.
8. be on the lookout for characters in holiday attire!

let's keep the thread going!

I forgot to talk about the shows. I thought the two main shows (in front of the castle and in tomorrowland) were both well worth seeing and I think young kids would like them. one thing to remember is that there is limited seating for the t'land show and none for the castle and the shows do last 20+ minutes each.

Don't plan to use FP to get on the rides - well, at least for MNSSHP they weren't available. Even if they were we didn't need them.

I haven't been to MVMCP but did the 1st MNNSHP this yr and from that experience:

1. waited til 10 min before the fireworks and got to sit right in front of the castle
2. waited til 10 min before the 2nd parade and found a place on Main St on the curb!!!
3. waited for the last show (11pm) in front of the castle...got there 3 min before and sat down right in front of the castle, early shows were busier.
4. found plenty of character to take pics with ....especially during the hour they confine you to tomorrowland!
Although my trip was the 1st halloween party I'm sure from reading these boards they will probably apply to Xmas party too.

Have Fun!
I'll be at my 1st MVMCP on Dec. 3rd!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait!!!!!

We always skip fireworks and parades due to the crowds so I am totally planning on seeing them during MVMCP!!!!!!!

Where can you "sit" to see the fireworks and the castle show?

I thought we'd have to stand but sitting seems better!

Thanks

wdwobsessed,

if you want to sit for the fireworks and don't care about eating some time, I would strongly suggest the plaza pavillion area (I love the smokers garden in front of the ice cream shoppe too, but that's usu. roped off for "special" guests) I would not sit in front of the castle for the fireworks, as I think you may lose some of the in the round effect. as far as the shows, there are the benches around the partners statute or you can set right in front of the stage if you get to the roped-off area, but for both places, again you'll have to get there early for the early shows that night.

hope this helps

This is all great. It's our first time at MVMCP so I am getting really excited reading all of these posts. Keep 'em comin'.

This thread was a GREAT idea! This is the one aspect of our upcoming trip that I am obsessing about, as we have never been at Xmas time..

I am hoping for Photo with Mickey in xmas attire for our Christmas cards.. any ideas where/when is the best time to find him? Is this a possibility or am I dreaming????

I am really getting excited now!!:Pinkbounc
Keep these great ideas/tips coming! I love it..
Thanks in advance,
Cheryle

We'd probably opt to see the later parade. So you think I can get a good spot last minute?

Thanks

Pictures ~
They only take 1 picture per group. You will get the # of copies = to the # of passes you have bought for MVMCP. They also give you an event button as you get your pictures taken.

Mickey in AK at Camp Minnie & Mickey is in his Christmas attire. I would suggest this location over trying to get one at MVMCP.

Snow on Main Street ~
I'm not sure the exact amount of time on this but can tell you it doesn't go the entire party. When we left last year around 11pm it wasn't going on. And since we entered early it also wasn't up and running yet.

I'm excited to hear about this as well, since this is out first time at the MVMCP. I'm grateful for the information, like sharing not to waste time on the country bears, since they offer that during the day too. How about the Goofy show, is that special for Cmas too? We had not get a chance to see that back in June, and since I think of have read, it's even changed.
So what is offered during this party, that's not offered during the regular hours. The Cmas show, are they only that night? What about the fireworks--different?
This is what I know:
Cookies/Cocoa
Picture of family
Gifts(souvenirs)

Anything else to do first, that is only during the party hours?

Hi Kyirish25 .. thanks for the tip on AK.. we are planning to go there in the morning before our MVMCP.. so I will do that then!

These tips are great.

Can anyone tell me a little more about the shows? Like what they are??

Thanks!

The weather can vary. It should be about 70 during the day and 50-60 in the evening so a light coat would be wise.
There is always a chance there will be a cold spell or a heat spell that could vary those temps up or down by 10 degrees. Be prepared for everything! :)

I bring stretch gloves and hats as insurance every trip. So far we've been 3 times the first week of Dec. and haven't needed them. I do believe as long as I have them, I'll never need them! ;)

Our fave show was the one in the TL theatre...."Minnie's night before Christmas" I think it was called. It was well worth while, and ranged from really physical humor to beautifull ballet numbers.

How crowded is Tomorrowland from 6 - 7 ? Is that a good time to grab something to eat at Cosmic Rays? - I would have thought that the rides in TL would be jammed with everyone held there. Do any of the shows in TL start before 7? At 7 do they do a 'rope drop' into Fantasyland? TIA ! :smooth:
