MVMCP Touring Plan?

Hoping those who have been to MVMCP before can give some advice about a touring plan.

Attending with my four year old daughters, with a focus on meet and greets and party activities (we don't care about the 7 dwarfs -- princesses with their princes, however, do matter).

Are things generally low volume enough that we really don't need a plan? We do intend to get there right at 4 and I imagine my girls making it until about 10 (we will have a very easy morning and a nap directly before coming).

Any advice appreciated!

We are the type of people that go into a park without a plan all the time so when we went to MVMCP last year it was no different. The one thing I have to warn you about was the line for Rapunzel, Flynn, Snow White, and her prince. We first got in line for Cinderella and Aurora and it was about 30 minutes from beginning to end. After we had met them we got back in line for Rapunzel and friends....let me just say we will likely never meet them again. I don't know if it was just the night we went but I think we waited close to 2 hours to meet them. The line did NOT move at all by the time we were even close to the front the line for Cinderella and Aurora was EMPTY. We ended up missing Wishes and one of the parades. Aside from that we LOVED the party. Now this was before Anna and Elsa so I'm not sure what it will be like this year but I would definitely have at least a basic plan going in. Also I would probably plan to go straight to the Princesses when you get there.
Hope you have a good trip! We love going around Christmas time!

Thanks! That is one of the things I'm struggling with a bit. Since the party switch-over is at 7 and we are getting there at 4, maybe we just delegate someone in the group to start standing in the princess line around 6. I assume if we get to the head of the line before the princes become available, we can just step aside and let others go. We are not going to attempt A&E at the party -- I am wondering if they will even be there on the party night. Anyone heard anything on this front?

I'm wondering what we should do mostly between 4 and 7. I know we want to get in line with Santa first thing when we arrive. I assume we just hit some rides to distract the kids while one of the parents gets in line for whatever our priority meet and greet experience is? Or do the Party characters ever come out early (before 7)?

Really the only thing you can do between 4 and 7 is rides. The party characters won't come out before 7 because then non-party goers would try to get in line for them.

I would try to form some kind of a plan. We did MNSSHP last year and the night seemed to go fast! There was so much to do and so many characters to meet. I would line up around 6-6:15 for whichever character line you think is most important to your family. We did that for the seven dwarves last year. As soon as 7 hit they came out and we only had about 5 people ahead of us. Then we got to start enjoying the party atmosphere without wasting party time in an insane line.

Edit: I must have missed your above post that states doing this...so I agree with your above post and say get in line at 6 for whoever will be hardest to meet! Lol

We do MVMCP pretty much ever year and have the same priority: princes lol!! :rotfl:

Our plan usually involves being in the park that full day, or at least getting there around 5pm. We head straight to fairytale hall for 6/6:30pm to "start" the line for the party.

In previous years at TST they had a separate line formed for the party/princes, but this past year with fairytale hall there was no separate line and cm's didn't really form one. Starting around 6:30 we lingered around the entrance and guests kinda formed a line with us. Just before 7pm they closed the doors to fairytale hall & we moved forward to be first in line once they re opened at 7pm. We did Rapunzel & Flynn's side of the hall first, then once done, jumped right over to the other side.

-Mary & Bert were next
-Peter & Wendy after that
-Lined up for the parade 30 minutes before to get a good spot
-Jasmine & Genie (as they switch off with Ali & Abu)
-Jack Sparrow at least 20 minutes before he came out (another popular one)
-Fireworks, stage show
-Spent the rest of the time character meeting and getting cookies/hot chocolate
-We even swung back to Fairytale hall for a second time on both sides at the end of the night

If you check out my Dec 2013 TR in my signature the end of Day 3 has all my MVMCP updates :) (starting at the one titled "triple dipping mayve?")

Thanks! I think your plan makes a lot of sense for us -- the big wild card will be if A&E are meeting with Kristoff (for example) and what that might do to the lines around the Hall. I suppose they will announce who will be meeting in advance, so we can figure it out beforehand.

My thoughts currently are:

Arrive at 4 and meet with Santa.
Visit Mickey Mouse at Town Square Theater
Visit Tiana at her meeting place (if time)
Visit Aladdin characters in Adventureland
Grab bite to eat
DH to get in line for princesses around 6:15
I take girls to ride the Carousel and maybe meet and greet with Merida, meet back with DH no later than 6:45.
Princess Fairytale hall at 7.
Immediately after meet Mary Poppins, Bert and Penguins.
Then, I or DH go and find a space for the 8:15 parade on Main Street. Kids and other parent watch the Celebrate the Seasons Show at 7:45 and then meet up to watch the parade.
After the parade try to meet the Country Bears and Pooh et. al. before catching Holiday Wishes at 9:30.
After Wishes try to catch the 9:55 Tomorrowland Christmas Show. If can't visit Woody's dance party instead.
