MVMCP - Tips, Tricks, Secrets newbies should know...

We are doing the MVMCP on the 15th, it is our 18th wedding anniversary :flower3:

We have ADR's at CG at the Contemp at 5:30, should I move them to the night before and do maybe CP in the park instead? I want to be at the park for the beggining of the party, will this be cutting it too close if I keep the ressie?
If I do move the ADR's to a park restaraunt is the CP a good choice?
I am so very exctied:cheer2:

Hey everyone,

We have tickets to MVMCP on December 6. :santa: This is also our first Disney trip, so we are super excited. We planned it for our last night there, since we knew we would have the kids up late that night and didn't want to plan it during the week when we'd be up early and going to parks and such.

Anyway, I do have a question if someone would like to help me out. I currently have an ADR at the Plaza that night for 5:55 pm. Is that a good place to eat right before the party? Will we have enough time to eat and then jump right into the festivities? I'd like to get a bit earlier, but this is the best I could do for time. What do you think? I've been hearing that lots of folks seem to enjoy Cosmic Rays, so I wonder if this is 'wasting' a TS credit when CS would be just as good? On the other hand, I thought having a 'relaxing' sit down meal at a TS might be a nice way to start out the night..what do you all think?

Thanks!

I think both of these ADRs need to be moved: Cali Grill to another day--you'll miss part of the party, and Plaza to earlier for the same reason. Cali Grill will probably take 2 hours and Plaza (if you are seated on time) 90 minutes.

Does anyone else wonder whether there will be some tie-in with the new Disney Christmas Carol movie at MVMCP? I tried posting about this on another thread, but no one answered. What do you all think?

They have done so much marketing of the movie, I can't imagine they wouldn't refer to it in the parks, and what better place than the MVMCP?

Maybe. If they do, it would probably be in the form of a float in the parade.

I'll bet for sure they will in the Christmas Day parade though. No doubt.

Oh I agree now, I think I will move the CG to Sunday evening maybe if I can, and try to get a 4:30 ish ADR for CP.

Thank you so much for helping me decide!

Forgive me if this has been asked. I did a search and didn't find an answer.

We are visiting Disney World from Dec. 4 to 12. We are going to MVMCP on Dec. 6. I know that the castle is lit up on MVMCP nights but on the nights the party is not held in early Dec. is the castle lit up with Christmas lights? I want my parents to see it but they are not going to the party with us because my parents are arriving later in the week.

Thanks

The lighting of the castle has nothing to do with the MVMCP and it will be lit every night with a ceremony before the party even starts.

Also, make sure to get your "free" cookies and hot cocoa early -- the lines get pretty long as the evening wears on.

Yes. the castle is lit up with thousands and thousands of white LED lights to look like "magical ice" and they change the ambient color of the castle to give it a festive look. It is like that every night even nights without MVMCP.

Looking at the calendar....why are there no MVMCParties for Thanksgiving week??:confused3:confused3
I would think that would be a primary week for it????

thanks

There have never been, nor will there probably ever be, parties Thanksgiving week (or Christmas week for that matter). They are peak crowd weeks. There are many guests and they expect the parks to be open late to accommodate those high crowd levels. No need to draw folks in with parties. They're already there for the holiday.

Not too long ago, they didn't have the first party till after Thanksgiving. The first one was always the Sunday after Thanksgiving.

We plan on going Sunday dec 13. First time for us at MVMCP . .... what is the earliest that you can get in to the park????

I read 4:00p and even 6:00 p .....Help!!!!!! Anyone?:confused3

this is our first time ever to Disney and I was wondering where they sell the MVMCP pins at? All the shops or are there specific locations they sell them?

I got mine last year in the Frontierland Pin Shop. There was absolutely no line in there last year. I went around 7:30pm or so. I remember it was after I saw the first Twas the Night B4 Xmas show.

Thank you both very much! I am so glad that my parents and brother will get to see the beautiful lights!

Is there a certain time every night that they are lit?

Sorry if this has already been asked. I haven't read through the entire thread. Does anyone know if they will be doing the Twas Night Before Christmas show?
