MVMCP - Tips, Tricks, Secrets newbies should know...

We will be attending on the 18th. I am sure it will be crowded as it is the last party. We don't care as we are just happy to be going! We have an early ressie at LTT and have a Wishes dessert buffet booked. We attended in 2002 and it was a magical night, we expect no less this time.

We will be at the dessert party as well on the 18th

We, like many PP will be enjoying the Resorts on the Monorail on our MVMCP day which is 12/1. This is also our first full day of vacation, so we will still be on west coast time and hopefully will not get too tired.
We are starting with a late breakfast at 1900 Park Fare and then checking out all of the holiday decorations.
We decided to book the Wishes Dessert Party for the 7th so we get to see both Wishes (and because my sister is a suger junkie).

Thanks for all the great tips!:santa::santa::santa:

Hi, and thanks to all for the great tips.
My DH and DD (7) and I will be arriving on the 19th of Nov and that is when I got the tickets for the MVMCP, We are landing at 1:30 and then heading over to the GF for our stay so I thought I would have my DD rest up at hotel and I was able to get a Res for the Cinderella's Happily Ever After Dinner at 1900 Park Fare which is at the GF @ 4:40. Every one says to get ther at 4:00 so do you think this is a wise choice or should we just head over to MK and get a CS meal at cosmic rays? Thanks

Great tips. I am going on the 6th and plan on being in Magic Kingdom that day and ride all the rides, then do the party that night, but just do all the Xmas stuff :santa:

Although you can get into the MVMCP as early as 4:00, the party itself doesn't start until 7:00, so I would just go ahead and keep the ADR at Park Fare.

Thanks,
That's what I thought, that it was a good idea, but wanted to check with the Pros!..LOL

We're doing the same thing on our MVMCP day on the 15th! Then to MK @ 4:00pm and a 4:15pm dinner @ CRT. Not doing the Dessert Party, though, after spending soo much on the party tix and dinner @ CRT!

We are attending the party on 12/8. I was talking with my mom today, and she wants to try to eat at the Plaza that day for a late lunch/early dinner. We'll probably be going to another park for a few hours before heading to MK in the afternoon for the party. If we can only get a reservation at the Plaza for between 3 and 4, how would that work ticket wise. We do have park hoppers, so that is not an issue. But would we have to leave and re-enter with our party tickets? Or do we just go pick up our wristbands and show our party tickets then? Any help will be appreciated!

So excited!!! I just ordered tickets to MVMCP for 12/13!! :santa: Here's my question for you that have already received your tickets, when the tickets arrive at your house, is the envelope marked telling you that it's tickets for the party? I have a surprise trip planned for my budding Imagineer and don't want him to know about the trip until 12/11. Should I be trying to intercept the mailman? Thanks! :goodvibes

The tickets are on gift cards. I don't think the envelope has any special markings, but you may get questioned about cards coming from Disney...

No, you don't have to leave and re-enter the park. There will be several locations for picking up wristbands. In past years there has always been one in the rose garden between the castle and Tomorrowland - that would be easy for you to hit after leaving the Plaza (any time after four).

:thumbsup2 Thank you!

I ordered my tickets online and printed them out. Do I have to go to Guest Services and get an actual ticket or do they just scan the paper at the gate?

We are going to the party on 12/1. I've been to WDW many times but always in June. Even if it's crowded at least it won't be hot like June. :rotfl:

Mine (for the 13th too, by the way ) came in a plain white envelope with my address showing through a clear window. The return address simply reads, "Post Office Box 10140, Lake Buena Vista, Florida 32830-10140."

However, I almost thought it was junk mail. Cause it feels like it has 2 credit cards in it. And I knew I didn't have any inbound. But since I open and shred anything that has my name and address on it, luckily I didn't accidentally throw them out.

So unless your budding Imagineer gets the mail every day and reads the return addresses on what looks like junk mail, I think you'll be fine :thumbsup2

I can't wait for the MVMCP!!!

I am planning on going on 12/8 but now that I think about it none of the other parks have late nights that night so it be more crowded :confused3

I am still going to do the 8th because I have worked other plans around that night :santa:

This is a great thread, so glad I read it! This will be our first MVMCP and we plan to go 11/20, even though it's a Friday. It's the only night is offered during our trip.

I've been trying to find a better ADR for that afternoon/night but I'm not getting anything. Right now we have a WCC for 5:25 but I think I'm going to cancel. The more and more I think about it, and now that I have read this thread I really want to be arrive at MK by 4 pm. Our flight gets into MCO at 9:25 am so we should have most of the day to relax. I was hoping to have a nice meal and then go in but I'm leaning towards eating at SSR around 3 pm, going to MK and then going to Cosmic Ray's.

My only concern is how busy with Cosmic Ray's be? Seems like that is a popular choice? And what time would be good to head over there? We do have two little ones so not sure how long after Wishes we'll be there unless they fall asleep in the stroller. The baby should fall asleep, not sure about the 3 year old.

Awesome! Thanks so much. That's exactly what I needed to know. :goodvibes

Fingers crossed that it's not too crowded for us on the 13th! :santa:

This thread is awesome. Thanks to all of you for your contributions. I had ordered a ticket for a Friday evening and I just called WDW and they switched it to Thurdsay. How nice is that? I can also now manage a reservation at CP before the event starts, which was unavailable for Friday (they only had 3:20 pm). Now I just hope this doesn't backfire with rain.

We have tried sit down dinners for several parties and always seemed to get held up in the crowds for seating and wasting valuable party time in the restaurant - so what you are planning is now our standard routine. We eat an early lunch in one of the parks, leave for a nap and rest for a few hours, eat a light dinner on our way out of the resort and grab a bite at Cosmic Rays later in the evening. They always close down one side of the restaurant during parties (I think it's the chicken side) but we love the bbq sandwiches and burgers, so that's ok with us. We love watching the dance party while we eat. If you are watching the first parade, you could watch right in front of the castle (at the end of the path to Rays) and then turn around and go right there. Otherwise, if your little ones fall asleep, you can still eat there later and sit back inside by the counters and completely away from the noise of the dance party. Wait - did they move the dance party out of Cosmic Rays this year?!! Is it now by the Stitch stage?! If so completely disregard this post - but at least it won't be as crowded!!

I think you've got a good plan there! My DD19 and I do Cosmic Rays when we do the MVMCP and we love it! I don't remember exactly what time we go but it really hasn't been overwhelmingly crowded imo, not empty, but a decent amount of seating available and not too long a wait for food. I do know we went after they did the lighting of the castle dream lights. We get a spot to sit outside on the patio area, unless it's freezing outside, then a spot near the window. We love sitting there eating dinner, being able to watch the castle dream lights with the colors changing and the lights twinkling, one of my favorite things to do! :santa:
