MVMCP - Tips, Tricks, Secrets newbies should know...

We have gone to the Christmas Party the last two years and can't wait for this year's party.

Is there a list somewhere of the party dates that sold out this year(2009)??? Thanks, planning for 2010.

We're going December 5 - 18th and this is definitely on our to-do list. Being the obsessive compulsive planner that I am I can't wait for the tickets to go on sale so I can start planning our days. Does anyone know approximately when the tickets go on sale and are the dates pretty much the same time frame every year?

How are the crowds for the party in mid nov like 14-17th? is it packed, I cant deicded if we should go the party or just skip it & go to Mk another day, I cant afford to get tixs for the party & seperate ones so if I get party tickets, thats all we will get for Mk....

We were there on the 15th and it was great! There were no lines. We walked onto every ride or up to every character. We only waited 10 mins before the parade started and got a front row spot. We had a great time! I really recommend it! Fireworks were great too!

We went to MNSSHP last year and I'm wondering if they have some of the same things at the Christmas party. Specifically, I'm wondering about free face painting and 'special' pictures like the ghost at HM and Cinderella's carriage. Are any of these things also out during MVMCP? Or maybe there are different ones?

Thanks!

Kira

We are going in December for MVMCP too. Sounds great. Do they have facepainting and special pictures. I'd like to know also.

I don't remember face painting, but it could have been there (wasn't looking for it). They had great character christmas spots. Like where Snow White & the Darwfs were, there are christmas trees with Donald in flannel to have ur pic taken with him. One of our favorites was by adventure land by the Dole Whip stand, you went inside (this is one of the hot chocolate stops) and they had Lilo and Stitch. They were dressed up in Christmas Hawaiian shirts and scarfs on a beach seen. The Parade was great too! And when you are leaving, walking down Main Street USA, they have "snow" falling. It looked great. We had a great time and thought it was worth it!

Does anyone have a good schedule of events to get the most of the activities covered? Seems like some of the things kind of overlap. Also is there a good place to stand/sit so that you have a good viewing point of the show, parade and fireworks? Also, is the Belle show the regular show or do they change it for the party?

Thanks, Erika

I realize this is the same weekend as the parade taping, does this effect the party crowd? Would it be better to do Thursday 2nd, Sunday 5th or Tuesday 7th?

Thanks, Erika

You can see a schedule from 2006 here. (Mickey's 'Twas the Night Before Christmas is no longer shown because the Galaxy Palace Theater is no longer there.) I don't think the parade taping should be an issue because taping is only done on Sunday as a back-up in case of weather or other issues on Friday and Saturday. In fact, in 2007 I arrived on the taping weekend and went to MK on Sunday and there was a sign when I first entered the park saying that tickets to that night's party were still available.

Hi. How crowded are the parties in November? I've heard Fridays are crowded but what about this Nov 12 which is the first Friday party? F&W will still be on at Epcot, so do y'all think it'll be slow despite that it's a Friday?

Ok, we are taking our 1st family trip to WDW in late Nov. I really, really want to do the MVMCP, but don't know if it is in our budget. I know this is probably a true rookie question, but do they light up the castle every night? Or is it just for the party? What happens @ the party that does not happen on regular nights? Thanks for all your help! These boards have been such a blessing!

They light up the castle every night. It has nothing to do with the party. It will happen before the party begins.

The parade and fireworks are the main things that happen at the party that will not happen on regular nights.

Plus they put on some Christmas Shows, special meet and greets with Character in Christmas attire and the Princesses are out with their Princes, plus Hot Cocoa and Cookies:santa: plus the benefit of very short waits for the rides:banana: can't wait for all the fun!!!
