MVMCP - Tips, Tricks, Secrets newbies should know...

I have just caught up on reading through this thread (it's been a couple of weeks) and just saw that Disney is offering a military discount on party tickets.

I bought my tickets at the price they were charging a couple of months ago, received them and started counting down the days, 1 week from tonight is when we are scheduled to attend. What do you recommend I do to try and re-coup the difference in price, if they will even do that? Should I call the ticketing office or wait till we get there? It's an unusual situation because from what I understand, they will want to see my DH's ID card.

Thanks for your help!!

I had the same issue...we have MVMCP tickets for Dec. 15 and I heard about the military offer last week. I called Disney and explained the situation and the CM asked for the reservation number from our MVMCP ticket order. She put something into the computer and gave me a Guest Services File Number to take to Guest Relations before we enter the park that night. They will check military ID, then refund the $90 difference between the original 6 MVMCP tickets and the new military price.

It only took a few minutes, and that's an extra $90 to spend when we didn't expect it, so I thought it was worth it! Have fun!

We are going on Sunday the 6th!!!!

We went on Nov. 20th, which was a Friday and it was wall to wall people. It thinned out only in the last hour. It was hard to get from location to location. However, the shows were great! The lines for hot chocolate and cookies moved quickly. During the second parade the Country Bears were riding the Magic Carpets with the kids in line. Lilo and Stitch are off in a restaurant that is no longer used except for special parties so if you like them, you can spend lots of time with them. The lights and decorations are amazing! Have fun! :santa:

The weather is awful here tonight. Hoping everyone at the party is able to have a good time anyway, and that nothing gets canceled! pixiedust: :santa:

According to the blog on All Ears about MVMVP - there was a picture of Wendy with Peter Pan. Can anyone else who has been this year confirm that they saw Wendy with Peter at MVMVP in FL? I have heard she is not out for char. meet and greets any longer with him otherwise.

Yes - she meets with Peter near the PotC attraction - Only at the parties! During the day Peter is now at Fantasyland, typically without Wendy.

Just got back from WDW and MVMCP on December 3rd. I feel horrible for those that had tickets for December 4th as the weather was truly horrible then. It was a bit cold our night.

Overall, I was somewhat disappointed in the party, but perhaps my expectations were too high. My advice to folks would be the opposite of a lot of what I had read: if there is something you want to see, make sure to do it at the first opportunity. The 2nd parade crowd was just as crazy as the first. The 2nd castle stage show was canceled due to technical difficulties (but not until about 15 minutes after it was supposed to happen), and by the time the 3rd one rolled around my child was asleep. Although this was not party-related, Space Mountain was down pretty much the entire night. I think if we had gone directly there is might have been open at the start of the party, but it went down very early on (before 8pm) and never came back up. Other than Main St only two merchandise locations were open. Even with the limited number of tickets to this event given how much was closed (attractions, merchandise, food locations), the crowd seemed to be only slightly lighter than during the day (everyone was cramming into the same places). The holiday parade was wonderful, but I'm not sure I'd do MVMCP again soon. There WERE plenty of characters out- if you are into characters it's a bonanza, but the lines were long. If someone in your household is into Alice in Wonderland, then Alice, the Mad Hatter, and Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum were all out around the TeaCups, and they even took turns riding the attraction with guests.

Yeah, we were there on the 4th, and I agree - weather was truly horrible! However, I think it kept the crowds away, as we had no trouble doing anything!! We were at MK all day, and I kept thinking we would stay at the party for just a little while, then head back to the resort to wring ourselves out :scared1:

But we actually had a really good time - I think our expectations were really low (considering the weather!), so that helped. We rode Haunted Mansion, IASW, Peter Pan, Space Mtn (twice), Buzz, BTMRR (twice), and Splash (twice) - I think I'm missing something, not sure what. Stopped at almost every cookie/cocoa station (no lines at all), and were able to walk up to the rope at 8pm to see the 8:15pm parade (though it actually didn't start until about 8:25). We also did a "walk up" to see the fireworks - we heard them starting when walking through Liberty Square, so we walked around to the castle (right by the side walkway that goes up to the Cinderella fountain) and got a great spot. We've never actually viewed the fireworks from in front of the castle - it was amazing! These were the best fireworks I've ever seen!!

Didn't try to see any characters (think they were all inside) and I don't think they did the stage shows that night - someone correct me if I'm wrong. We also didn't see it snow on Main St - but that might have been cancelled too. Left the park around 10:45.

I probably wouldn't pay for my whole family to see it again (5 of us), but it was worth it for just two. Everything is very Christmasy - music, etc., and we had a really nice time.

The snow on Main St. was pretty weak the night we were there. They were only blowing snow from one spot on one side of Main St. You could hardly see it. The snow at the Osborne Lights at HS was actually much better. Hope you get a good snow night!

Just a warning for anyone taking pictures in the fake snow, it has at least some soap content and will leave spots on both your camera lens and the camera body itself.

re: the snow blowers - pay attention to where you sit! We grabbed a great spot on the curb following the fireworks and soon realized we were directly across the street from one of the snow blowers (there are two of them on the top of the buildings on the Emporium/Caseys side of the street) - blowing a relentless and heavy stream of soapy bubbles right at us for the next hour!:rotfl:
By the time we realized it and it became annoying (our heads were damp with suds) every spot along main st was taken - so we waited it out in the 'snow'. Next time I'll pay better attention to where I sit! I don't remember the snow being as heavy years before as it was that night 12/6 - maybe the wind-drift was different. The parade was awesome as usual!:thumbsup2

I've got a feeling Disney is selling as many tickets as people buy .... we were there on 12/8th and it was wall to wall people .... worse than NYE or July 4th. It was awful and I lost the magic after that experience.

We've been to the party twice before, once in 2006 and in 2007. This was our first bad experience. For the price this was a big disappointment.
