Hey All,

two years ago I took my then 6 year old to MNSSHP and basically we showed up at 4pm in costume, got his face painted, rode some rides, a QS dinner, did ToTing and more rides, staked out a great place for the parade, did the fireworks and left. He was done after the fireworks.

this december we are going to the christmas party and I'm hoping to get more out of it as I have kept him up to midnight on special occasions and he has done just fine. It is toward the end of our trip and I will be slowly pushing our days later and later and the night before we are going to go for night time EMH at the MK as a warmup for staying up until midnight and have nothing planned the next day (party day) except a nice breakfast, swimming at the pool, early dinner at Ohana (3:30pm) and then it is off to the MK.

Honestly I have always just gone with my normal flow of "parade then fireworks" but with the large amount of time between the parade and fireworks I am wondering if it might be better to do it the other way around - do rides during the first parade and then make our way to main street for the fireworks and then stay there for the second parade. I have read that the second parade can be less crowded than the first and it also seems like the timing might work better...

Does anyone have any comments on doing it one way vs. the other? Fireworks is always the best way to just end the night but if we are planning to stay later then it doesn't matter which order we do it in I guess. Also does anyone know what the timing of things are? It seems like last year the fireworks were at 9:30 and this year they are at 10 - when does the second parade happen then?

it seems like if we get to the MK around 5:30 or 6 that leaves us quite a bit of time to do a couple of FPs and then ride rides until it is time to go to main street for the fireworks. Also it seems like parade to fireworks has a LOT more dead time between the two (maybe to accommodate the wishes holiday dessert party?) than fireworks to 2nd parade.

Thanks for any help or advice!
