When we were at MNSSHP we witnessed a few people still in the park without the bands on and I personally saw some one when we left the park at about 11. We are going to the Christmas party and remember last year they put people off to the side and we left, but if you don't get caught w/o a band can people just stay???

If you don't get caught, then obviously yes. In my experience though, CMs are very thorough and consistently weed out almost all but party guests. But never underestimate sneaky people.

Yeah, the CMs are doing their best to have people without wristbands leave, but with so many people in the park there's only so much they can do. I do know that people without wristbands are not allowed in shops or on rides. The most they're going to be able to do is walk around and maybe see the parade.

Is it possible that they just don't like wearing things around their wrist and had the bands in their pocket or somewhere? I hope you don't HAVE to wear them because I know my four year old son will not wear one for sure.

1- Not as a general situation.

2- That's the whole point. The bands do have to be worn by guests to identify
those who have paid to be in the party.
And, the bands are put on guests' wrists by the Cast Members when
guests turn in their party tickets.

(Of course, if you do cut the band off of your son's wrist, I suppose you can
always explain it any way you like, if they stop you in the park.)

That's true, but some people pay a lot of money just to specifically see the holiday fireworks, parade and shows and never go on any rides. It is such a shame that there are folks out there that would scam the system and take advantage of Disney. I for one wouldn't even consider it. However, I do wonder if some people truly just have no idea that the evening has changed over to a party. A first time visitor or foreigner perhaps.... unknowingly? I sure hope that's more the case.

Last night I was asked about 38 times to show my bracelet. Although that's a slight exaggeration ;) I find it hard to believe that someone without one would have lasted long!

We just got back to the UK last week & attended MVMCP's on the 12th & 16th of November.
There were numerous wristband checks taking place at various points in the park & at ride entry points, I must admit to not seeing any done at the doors of shops, the bands were different colours on the two nights.

If you do manage to get into a shop, you will have to show your wristband to the CM at the register. And there are even CMs stationed by the restroom doors!! I have seen guests turned away from the restrooms if it was at park closing...no wristband, no potty.
I really liked to old way....the park closed at 7, and everyone with a wristband was herded into one 'land'...everyone else was shown the park exit. Then, shortly prior to 8pm, the party goers were released into the park. It really did cut down on the illegal party goers!!

Oh yeah, I agree completely. Just saying that there will be certain things that people without wristbands absolutely cannot do during the party. Unfortunately, unless those people are caught by CMs, seeing the fireworks and parade is something they could get away with.

I haven't been for five years, but I thought I remembered them making announcements as it got close to party time. (You know, like how department stores make announcements that it's getting close to closing time.) Since the park doesn't close between regular park hours and the party, I would think they have to do something to let park goers know that unless they have (or buy) a ticket to the party that they'll have to leave by 7:00.

One the 25th, there were CM's walking down the parade route and asked every person to hold up his or her wrist showing they had paid for the party. One family beside me acted really confused, but the cm just told them they had to show a wristband or leave the park immediately. If they wanted to come back in, they could buy a ticket. When they still acted like they didn't know what she meant, she told them that if they refused, she was required to get a manager to escort them out. They seemed to understand at that point and left quickly. She followed them for as far as I could see. We were in the area by the confectionery store.

I slipped my then 3 year old daughters off last year just because I wanted really nice pictures of her with the princesses without having to try and get her to hide it or have the huge thing in pictures.

I kept it in my back pocket in case anyone asked to see it, but mine was prominently displayed and I would assume they would know we were together and she was paid for.

She was never asked to show hers, and we were asked to show our 3 or 4 times in about 100 feet going up Main Street, but never again....

I hate thinking people would scam.

I'd be too worried about being embarrassed!

We have dinner ressies at evening at 7pm, at CRT and I am going to get both my and my daughters tickets ahead of time, and then let my brother who is more interested in Epcot, and my elderly Mom who will likely be tired from a full day at the park just make the decision when they get out of dinner if they want to stay or go, and hopefully there will still be tickets to purchase same day....
