MVMCP Not Going but....

How does this work?
We're not going to Mickey's Party so will we be kicked out of the MK or is there still half the park we can visit?

You will be asked to show a party wristband if you try to go beyond Main Street. They do not allow non-party paying guests to remain in the park after the official close of the park. They send everyone not wearing a wristband to Main Street.

If you are going to MK on a day where they have the MVMCP the MK will close at 6pm. The party starts at 7. If you can, go. You get in with the MVMCP at 4pm and stay all the way till Midnight. It's great. We did this in Dec of 2004 and in fact did 2 MVMCP. Well worth it.

We went in Dec., 05, I think to the second to last one, Dec. 18th maybe. Anyway, it wasn't worth it for us, the lines were so long we would have been better off not going to the MK at all that day. The line to Space Mountain was out into the plaza by 10:00. Too much money for hot chocolate and cookies!

This isn't the popular opinion around here, but we've made the decision not to attend this year based on a number of things, including the changes we've seen over the past years and our reluctance to shell out another nearly $200 for 5 hours at the MK.

You will be treated like the great unwashed if you are in the park after 5:30 and most CMs we encountered on the evenings we were there but not going to the party were quite adamant that we keep moving down and out Main Street even though it wasn't yet 6:00.

Hold the phone! I must have looked at the WDW site wrong, because I saw where the Magic Kingdom park closed at 7:00 on MVMCP days. Not 6:00 as posted above. Guess I'll have to revisit the Disney site and reread it.

After looking at the official WDW site again for the month of November, I see that the Magic Kingdom is indeed open until 7:00 on party nights. That's what I thought. (I have been to the MVMCP in the past, and found it to be very crowded, with long lines for most every attraction. Not worth the extra charge, at least on the evening I attended.)

I have planned my day at the Magic Kingdom for Tuesday, Nov. 28. The park is scheduled to close at 7:00 pm that evening. There is a Christmas party scheduled for that evening. But I do not expect any CM to suggest that I should leave the park, or go to Main Street, before 7:00.

I know. We're all wondering why it says 7:00p. Either it's a mistake or they're going to change how they do things this year...time will tell.

We're talking about MK park hours for November at www.disney.com. They show the party nights as closing at 7:00p so it's either a mistake or they are doing something different this year.

Just a heads up for those who don't want the hassle, stay away from the front of the castle area or you will be herded down Main Street in the hour before closing with very impatient CMs telling everyone without writstbands to "stay to the left and keep moving!"

I don't really know how to describe it better, as far as attitude. It was the most un-Disney like thing we encountered on our trip.

Wait it's a mistake on the official site. You will notice that they will change the hours as it get's closer. MK will close @ 6pm. If your not going, don't fret...just go play some mini golf or resort hop or a night at DTD.
