MVMCP--Non-Paying Guests

I have been hearing that people who do not have tickets for MVMCP are not being asked to leave the park when the party starts. Anyone have experience with this yet this year?

I would want to be able to watch the parades and enjoy the other entertainment with fewer crowds.

(Edited to add:) I see my original post was misunderstood. I AM going to pay for the tickets, and one of the benefits I hope to get for my money is that I can watch the parades and stuff with fewer crowds. I am definitely a Disney-Rule-Follower!

They more or less make up for this by admitting party guests as early as 4 PM without their having to get out a regular park ticket as well as their party ticket.

Non-party guests may not go on rides during the party hours.

So far I have not had a desire to pay extra for the party hours.

I think they actually are being informed that the park is closed for them, but CMs aren't escorting people out. We had CMs ask to see our bracelets a bunch of times in lands and rides, and I can only assume they would inform those without about the closing.

We had one guy ask to see our bracelets around the Liberty Belle, right between Liberty Square and Frontierland. We then went into the Trading Post to get our MVMCP pins. They were very strict about only party-goers getting the pins, and a line was forming in the store. They wouldn't begin selling the pins until after 7pm, so my wife decided to wait while we went to Splash & BTMRR. The same guy who checked our bracelets in Liberty Square asked to see them again at the front of the bridge to Splash Mtn. My son said "How did he get here so fast?" :rotfl:

We went on 12/5, and we couldn't turn around without having to show our wristbands to CMs. Couldn't get into a shop, into a restaurant, into one of the "plaza bathroom areas" (you know what I mean -- by PoC and in Frontierland). And of course no rides/attractions. I was impressed at how careful CMs were being, and how specifically non-wristbanded folks were being escorted out of the park. It showed a lot of integrity on WDW's part not to even let non-paying guests into the stores!

We did witness this -- there were "relay" teams of CMs, if you will -- guests were being escorted from one check point to the next to make sure they exited the park.

We went on Dec. 5 and showed writs bands several times. Also, in the shop, they wouldn't put out the special merchandise until they were satisfied the area had been cleared of non party guests.

I also saw this on EMH on Dec. 10 at MK, where some people were turned away from the rides or told that they had to leave when it was 8.

We were at MVMCP on 12/5, and never, NEVER get asked for show my wristband. Actually I hide mine inside my jacket just to see if somebody ask me, but never happened.

I think they did a great job clearing the park considering they didn't close the park down for an hour this year.

There were CMs EVERYWHERE!

We had to show our bands when we crossed into one of the lands from the main hub shortly after the party started. They had the area closed off and you couldn't get through without showing your bracelet. We had to show them at least a dozen times when we were there on 12/4. I was quite impressed by their diligence.

I agree wholeheartedly with this statement. When have you ever seen Disney turn people away from a STORE before!!! :woohoo:

We were there 11/28 and 11/30. Both nights waves of CM's came down Main Street asking to see our wristbands. It got to the point where we kept our arms in the air. People without bands were not allowed to ride anything, buy anything, or see the shows. Guests were told that if they wanted to stay, they could purchase tickets at Guest Services.

Case in point: On 11/30, we were waiting on Main Street for the first parade. On either side of us we families that had been waiting for about an hour (this was at 7:15). When the first round of CM's came, both families had to leave because they didn't have wristbands. One family went quietly, but the other tried to argue and complain. The CM's were firm, but nice. They told the family that they could buy tickets and return.

There may be a family or two that gets past the CM's, but from what I saw it would be very difficult to do so.

We just got back from the Dec. 11th party.

Just walking around, we were asked several times to show our wristbands. I'm not sure how long someone without a wristband would last in the park.
They really seem to be checking.

i have several posts on different boards. i was there 12/5 and i saw no cm's checking. saw many people at parade with no wristband. walked into tomorrowland theatre and cm's were not checking. guess it depends where you are and what day. we were never asked to show our wristbands.

Seriously? Why not just pay like other responsible moral people in attendance?

Heck, I couldn't even GET to the rides I wanted to get to much of the time because of roped off areas at least two times during the party. (and, yes, I had a wrist band) Too much of a crowd to have to walk around the front of the castle to move from area to another. Killed the party for me.

I won't be back for this "Party" in the future. Too crowded and too many rope barriers ... Destroyed the magic.

But love the Magic Kingdom otherwise. Just not during party time. :)

Enjoy.

The OP may be referring to the fact she has paid and doesn't want to be crowded out by non-paying guests. Since her comment could be taken two ways (she's paid and doesn't want crowds or she hasn't paid but thinks she can get away with staying), perhaps she can clarify. :)

(There's no smiley that looks like a "rule-follower" or I would put one in here.)

Buy a ticket for the party. Its cheaper to buy a party ticket. I would buy a party ticket and get in at 4pm rather than use a regular park ticket. It's $40 for a MVMCP and you get 8 hours in the park versus $70 for 10 hrs. It just didn't make sense for me to waste a regular day ticket there. They do check for the wrist band even when you are just strolling through the park.
