MVMCP -- is it worth it? Please help!! We've never done Christmas at WDW!!!

We are taking one of those spur-of-the-moment type trips Dec 17 -Dec 23 and have the MYW plus hopping tickets. We have dinner + CP at Epcot and are on the dining plan so have assorted fun dining experiences planned. My question is this: Should we spend the extra money to by MVMCP tickets for our DS2, DD6 and DD9? We plan to spend a lot of time at the MK and will probably see the 3:00 parades and Wishes during the trip a few times. We will do the Osbourne lights and the CP as mentioned.

Is there anyone out there that can weigh in? Is this "not-to-be-missed" or just another crowded evening at MK with some hot cocoa and extra Christmas decor?

Please help. My husband and I are torn!!!

BTW, this is a surprise trip for the kids... They have no idea. We are enlisting the help of a mall Santa to deliver the news!!

I say go for it. I was torn too especially after reading some reviews that were less than favorable. But then I decided like with everything else the best way is to go and make up your own mind. Maybe it will be worth it, maybe not, but there's only one way to know for sure. Beside you're already there and spending money, at this point does it really make a difference? So all 6 of us are going and I just got the tix the other day in the mail which was a real thrill. So go and see for yourself. Maybe you'll be hooked and go twice a year like some people do when they are there!
BTW, love the idea of having Santa surprise your kids with the news! Too cute. Let me know how it goes!

We just love MVMCP. We have gone to MVMCP the last 3 years and just loved it. We will be doing the party again this year on Dec. 4. I say go ahead and get your tickets and have a great time at the party.

Just go! I'm telling you, if you don't go you will totally end up regreting it because after you get home you'll make your DH crazy by saying over and over "I wonder if we should've gone? Do you think we should've gone? I think maybe we should've gone." And then you'll have to come here to the DISboards and add your story to the "things you regreted not doing" thread!

So you see it's better if you go and then you'll know whether it's worth it or not. And if it's not you can blame it all on me!

I would say definatly go, we are going twice when we go to wdw for two weeks in december, we went last year and had a great time

I say go for it too. You never know until you try it. Everyone has their own opinion and they might not like it, but you may love it. We are trying it for the first time this November and wer are hoping for the best. If it is not for you then you will know next time. I have friends who came back a week ago, and they did the MNSSHP and didnt like it. So many Disers do. Go for it and hopefully it will be everything you hope for. Thats what we are doing.

Another vote to "go" - ds then 12 and I did it - only once but we still talk about the snow on Main Street and the incredible parade - it was bitter cold and we had one of the most magical and memorable experiences ever. He is in high school now with lots of sports and club commitments so any December trip is not in our realm, if it were . . . . . we would be there in a heartbeat

My DH and I took our GrD and DD to MVMCP....and it was wonderful....
The decorations are the best....the Christmas parade was fantastic...the cookies and hot cocoa were delightful...the whole sum...it was a magical Disney night, worth every penny. Bring your mittens so can stay as late as you can...because we stayed and just walked onto many of the rides. I remember the girls running around and going on SM 3x's in a row....they had a blast.
Hope you have a wonderful time....laugh alot...and make lots of wonderful memories...!!!!
