mvmcp is it super crowded

Hi: Is mvmcp a super crowded event or do they sell a limited number of tickets. Also can you get tickets the day of or is that a bad idea.

They only sell a certain amount of tickets for each party. It can be crowded if it is sold out (but nowhere near a busy day in the park). If you watch the fireworks and the 2nd parade it seems less busy, to me anyway, because most people watch the first parade and then the fireworks and then they leave. Also you are able to get into the park as early as 4pm with just your party ticket so if you utilize some of the time to catch a few rides, maybe eat dinner you will have more time once the party actually starts. It is best to get the tickets in advance, for starters because they are cheaper than same day tickets, but also because there really is no rhyme or reason to what days will sell out.

If it is sold out it can be crowded. We were there in 2003 on Dec 19 the last MVMCP of 2003, it was sold out and it was packed. You could not walk without bumping into someone. Maybe earlier in the season it would be less crowded.

Ours may not be a popular opinion, but we thought MVMCP was not worth the money. With the exception of the first hour, it was very crowded, long lines and no fast passes. We never got our pictures taken (went twice), and only went on a few rides. The parade route was super crowded and hard to see.

This is just our opinion, others love it. It was fun to go to once, but we would never spend the money again. BTW, we went on a Tues and Thurs so not traditionally crowded days so that was not the problem.

We went on a Thursday last year and the crowd was manageable. I'm glad we went, but probably wouldn't do it again soon.

We've gone on Friday night early in December the last several years and found the crowds to be manageable. A little crowded around the parade route, but the rides were pretty much walk-ons.

there are a couple of threads about this. a lot of it has to do with what day you attend the party. tuesdays are less crowded than fridays because you have a lot of area people coming up for the friday party.

at least that's what i've read here and we're doing a tuesday MVMCP

I thought you looked familiar. lol We were there in that mass of humanity too. I would never again do a sold out/Friday MVMCP after that one experience. We were fortunate enough to have been there on 12/14, which was a Sunday and a wonderful experience. Otherwise, we would not be going twice again this year.....once on Sunday and again on Thursday.
