MVMCP details announced

Family is headed to Disney for our first December trip ever. Chatted about this announcement, but we felt that the Halloween Party in late SEPT 2021 that we attended was certainly not worth the price. If the crowds were substantially limited, I'd probably be more inclined to do it, even at a nutty price. But knowing it's no different than daytime crowds, easy pass at $170/pp.

Hmmm this would be our first party at WDW. We are SoCal locals and always do the partys out here at Disneyland.. they are never crazy busy. In fact at the Sweethearts night we walked on to ROTR! Literally right into the pre-show room! Now I'm worried. My DH is sooo looking forward to the party. This whole Christmas trip is our present to each other this year. We could do a lot at WDW with that extra money. Not sure now if I want to book it.

Ugh, I’d love to go again (we went to MVMCP way back in 2009 pre-kids) with the kids but almost $800 for a family of 4 is just not worth it. But I know as long as people keep paying the ridiculous prices, they’ll keep going up and up.

In our experience, the party was often much more crowded than the daytime. It once took me 45 minutes to walk from main street to liberty square (usually a 2 minute walk) during a Christmas party because it was so congested and people were refusing to budge from their “viewing spots” in the middle of the designated walking path for the castle shows/parade/fireworks. I wish I was exaggerating. People that night were so angry, screaming at eachother and CMs. Not a lot of holiday spirit.

Wow. We were able to walk up to the hub area moments before the stage show, fireworks and both parades started without issue. And had so much room to spare. It was so refreshing compared to regular park hours/evening fireworks it made the After Hours price worth it for us.

Looking at the offerings for MVMCP there doesn't seem to be a lot more added from last year. Maybe we'll pass on the party if it won't live up to last years experience :'(

I had my park days tentatively planned for days that now have the party. However, we do NOT plan to go to the party at an extra $825 for our family. We will have 2 MK days during the first week of Dec. First-timers trip.

Party days at MK tend to be slightly less crowded most of the day. This is largely attributed to guests without hopping tickets avoiding the MK due to reduced regular hours..

However, guests with party tickets can enter as early as 4:00 PM. That makes the last two hours of regular park time very crowded. And unlike a normal park night where a large number of people watch the fireworks and then head out:

• There won't be any fireworks at 6:00 because it's not dark enough
• The standby lines will be long leading up to the official closing time of 6:00 due to the influx of all those party guests starting at 4:00
• and Genie+ selections will be cut off earlier than normal so that guests without party tickets can be cleared from the park quickly after 6:00.

If you have hopper tickets, being at the MK in the morning and early afternoon can be great. You can head to another park any time after 2:00. If you have a base ticket and planned to go from rope drop to final fireworks then a party night is not a good day to plan for the MK.

Park closes early. Usually a 7:00pm-ish start.

Around 10:15 p.m. or so as I recall, but it's a been a couple of years.

Went probably 10 years ago, and thought it was no longer worth what they were charging. Now it's triple the cost, and less happening, plus larger crowds. Hard pass from this family.

Anyone hear if dessert parties are a thing? Do they have them for Halloween? Large crowds make me very anxious, so we'll always do a dessert or dinner package with fireworks seating if available.

Just booked for 2nd December. Payment went through but my confirmation email states it’s been processed. Tickets are usually instant. Is this normal?

Does the DVC discount automatically show if you choose one of the discounted nights? Does anyone know which nights these are? Can we confirm they are only in Nov?

Always a nightmare with Disney IT. I’m hoping it may be as they’re manually cross referencing on site guests as it’s open early to them?? Or the system is overloaded. Praying I don’t have to call as it is always so busy.

Hopefully the official ticket will come through in a couple of hours

I just logged in and bought tickets and it automatically applied the discount. On the calendar, you could select DVC/AP/Resort guest prices.

When I selected DVC discount it just removed the $10, unfortunately I can't look beyond the dates of my stay (early November) to see when the discount applied until.

I didn’t purchase with the DVC discount but I know it only showed the dates during my on-site stay - so only showed me December dates
