Okay! I've decided that the 8:00 LTT ressie the night we attend MVMCP is probably not a good idea. So, I need some alternatives...should we try a lunch there or just wing some counter service late that afternoon?

I don't know what to do! I hope planning our 2nd trip to WDW is easier than this one! :)

I was able to get a 5pm reservation at the castle on 12/20, the night I have tickets for MVMCP. We should be done in plenty of time for the 7pm start.

You can try to get another TS restaurant for the night of your party, but we are going to just get counter service in the park. They will let you in to the party at 4:00 and start ushering non-party goers out around 6:00. I personally don't want to spend any of that time sitting in a restaurant.

What we did last year was to have a really big lunch late in the day--2pm or so. We hit the party at 4:30 and never felt the need for dinner. I remember buying popcorn and we had the cookies and hot chocolate. I did buy myself a hotdog very late in the evening as I waited for my daughter and brother to get back from one last ride before closing. No one else really had dinner. It was a very fun evening for us.

I have also done the late lunch. Actually that is what we are doing this year late lunch in Epcot Monorail it around for MVMCP. I have in the past gotten reservations at one of the monorail resorts. MK doesn't have too many sit down rest. options.

How about Chef Mickeys or Cinderella's Gala Feast a hour or so before you plan on hitting the party? Just a monorail (bonus!) ride away.

we're going the tues after you and are planning to do sea world during the day. come back and nap. the do CS for dinner in the park.

Do you need to have TS to get in before 7pm?

I canceled a dinner res. when I realized we didn't want to miss any of our family's first MVMCP sitting in a resturant. We are going to have a late lunch(2:30) at Whispering Canyon Cafe that afternoon.

WE are going to the party 12/13 :Pinkbounc First time :Pinkbounc

We are going to dinner at CG at 6...close enough to the MK.....I thought that was a good time but I don't really know exactly when the party starts. Is it important to be there from the beginning?? Will we miss anything??

Last year we did Crystal Palace at 5:30pm. This gives you plenty of time to eat and then be out when the party starts. If you finish before 7:00pm the CM's will just send you to Tomorrowland to wait for the start of the party.

You can enter the park at 4pm on your MVMCP ticket, catch a couple of rides and then eat.

Don't miss the "Night before Xmas" show at the Galaxy theatre, it's great.

Party starts officially at 7 but they let people in earlier. I know for 4 on they use wristbands & you can hang in Tomorrowland.

See the MVMCP thread for exact times. 6:00 might be cutting it a little close but it is personal preference

I have done it 3 ways, TS at the Plaza eating with ressies at 4 something and then heading right over to Tomorrowland, did the picture, then started rides.

Also, 4 something CS at Cosmic Rays, then rides and picture right before leaving

and lastly, dinner at Grand Floridian Cafe at 5:00 (earliest I could get) and then heading over to party, rides and picture late.

What I will do next time is dinner at the Plaza with ADR's for 4 something, head to Tomorrowland start enjoying shows and rides and do pictures right before leaving.

Reason, Plaza was a nice relaxing meal to start out the evening, CS is OK, but not as relaxing, and eating at a MK resort, just got us there too late. It was our most awful time, and we only did about 3 rides because everything was just up and going and crowded already by the time we got there.

I would go to Tomorrowland then right after eating at the Plaza and start doing the rides and shows there, by 5 or so the non party people really start heading out of the park and the lines are almost walk-ons, by the time they open up the rest of the park at 7:00, you've had allot of fun doing the stuff in Tomorrowland and are ready to enjoy the other things in the park.

At our first party everyone said to get your picture done right away, first thing. We did that that first year, right after eating at the Plaza and still waited in line about 30 minutes. This was at about 5. Then we were walking around towards the end of the party in Adventureland, and the CM's that were doing pictures were standing outside, asking people if they had done their pictures yet. There was no line!!! So the other two times we waited til the end to do our pictures, both times, no lines.

Thanks for all the info :flower:

Am I making a mistake going to dinner at 6 at the CG? We don't have kids....so we are just looking forward to seeing all the christmas stuff and going on some rides that we have been on a thousand times :rotfl: We would rather be at the park till closing than leave early. Do the crowds thin out after a certain time??

I have a couiple of questions for you old pros
What is the night B4 xmas show and when does that start and where is the galaxy theatre??

Do they make snow on main street for the entire time of the party or just during the parade??

How far is the walk from CG to the MK?

Sorry for the stupid ???'s

Thanks
