MVMCP a tip or two

They don't start making the day guests leave until 7pm....so it would seem that between 4pm when they let the MVMCP guests in and 7pm when the day guests leave would be the most crowded part of the day wouldn't it? Since both groups would be there?

I'm just stating my (and others here on the DIS) experiences in the past. Many day guests are already starting to leave well before 7:00p because they make many announcements that the park will be closed at 7:00p and they also have a sign as you enter the park that the park is closing at 7:00p. Also, well before 7:00p, they'll be CMs all over directing day guests towards the exists. And as for the party guests, many still arrive closer to 7:00p (or even later).

YMMV.

My advice is (if rides are important to you) to do the rides/attractions that aren't open for the party between 4:00p and 7:00p and during the party, do the rides that are popular as the rides lines are shorter at the party because everyone is doing the Christmas festivites. However, personally, I go for the festivities and not really the rides!

Which rides are NOT open during the party?

We plan on arriving at 4 PM and doing the rides that are NOT open....then doing the rest of the rides when the party is going on. We aren't going for the shows.

HERE's last year's map and it shows what's open so you can see what won't be. Off the top of my head Tiki Room and Jungle Cruise are closed during the party.

There aren't that many that aren't open.

I am thinking this show is very popular and would like to go with my family. I have a few questions. Where in MK is it? Does it fill up fast? How long before show should we get on line to get good seats (mom has wheelchair), and about how long is it? Any help would be MUCH appreciated!!!:)

It's at the Galaxy theater in Tomorrowland (to the left of Buzz, if you are facing Buzz).

You should get there at least 45 minutes beforehand. Luckily there are seats.

It lasts about 20 minutes.

Ok so I am completely overwhelmed trying to plan our trip so any advice would be greatly appreciated! I just can't believe how much planning is needed and I thought I had a good plan until I started reading on here. We are arriving in Orlando early Sunday morning, Dec 7th. SInce we can't get into our rooms until later we were planning on going to MK and eating at Crystal Palace at 2:10 - then thought we would go to our room and rest for a while and we have tickets for MVMCP that night. Where can I see a list of shows, parades, fireworks, etc? Is my plan too much for this day? It will be me, hubby, mom in a scooter and a 5 and 7 year old who handle staying up late very well. Any advice for what order to try to do the party things in? If we miss the castle lighting at 5:45 is this something we could see the other day we are at MK? We are also staying at the GF -so i wonder how well you can see the castle light up from there? I have been to DIsney several times but not since 1996 and no on else in our party has ever been there.

Thanks so much!
Kori
Kori,

Don't worry about a thing, you are staying at the GF, a monorail resort, so it will be very easy to pop over to your hotel after your late lunch at CP. You will have from 3:30 or so until 6:30 (earlier if you want to catch the first Twas the night show) to rest and get settled before you have to get to the MK for the party.

Don't stress about it at all, the castle lighting is done every night at 5:45 party or not, being on the monorail it will be easy as pie to hop over one day to catch it.

If everyone always says try to go to the first Twas..... won't that be the most crowded???? lol
just kidding
Can't wait to go on the 16th of November. We also have 4:30 ressies for
LTT!!!!

Actually, you are right! That is why I never suggest going to the first one. That secret is out and no longer true that it's the least busy showing.

Same with the parade. Some nights the second one may be less crowded but for the most part, they are both crowded now.

How cool we will see you there. We are the ones wearing matching t shirts and prob have 2 very excited kids jumping up and down (well 3 if u include me).

I didn't get to read the whole thread. Where is the Twas Night Before Christmas located? Also, what is the Celebrate the Seasons Show and where is that located? Thanks so much.

Twas the Night is performed in the Tommorowland Galaxy Theater.

Celebrate the Seasons is performed on the Castle Stage.

Thanks. I just bought my tickets for Dec 14 yesterday and I know nothing about the party. I know my DD is going to love it!! :cool1:

Just curious-I made my ADR for LTT for 4 pm but now realize we cannot get into the park until 4 because we did not purchase a ticket for that day, just the MVMCP tickets. Do you think we can make this-will it matter if we are a few minutes late?

I guess I could add another day on but really wanted to just chill out at the resort until time for the party.

Any thoughts???

Thanks for all the great tips! I will be attending my first MVMCP on 11/21 - the day we arrive at Disney (me, my mom, and my DD7). This will be the first time we see Disney during the holidays. The pictures of the "iced" castle are breathtaking...I just know I'm gonna cry some tears of joy!!

They will understand why you are a few minutes late and will hold your reservation. I'd get to the gate early though as many will be entering at 4:00p.

Thanks beattyfamily-I was hoping they would do that. I am one of those must be everywhere early types-so it was already stressing me.

:thumbsup2

Anyone going on the 10th? I'm thinking of it, since the 11th is a holiday, we'll have to see if we can afford it!! :) it'll just me me and the youngin, he's 10! we did PPP together and had a great time!!!
